The Calm Before the Storm

It was 6 in the morning when you heard Steve banging on your door.

"Y/N come on! The team is gonna go for run, it's gonna be a great team bonding experience" he giggled as he continued to bang on the door. You mumbled under your breath, "I'm going, I'm going."

You knew for sure that this was solely Steve's idea and that the team wasn't excited like he was. I mean, who the hell wants to go on a run... for fun?? You throw on some grey leggings that show off your beautiful curves and put on your favorite black Nike sports bra. You then pick out two shirts but you couldn't decide.

"Should I go with the blue tank top or the red one?"

You check yourself out in the mirror, looking to see which one looked best.

"The red one brings out your eyes, makes you look beautiful." He said.

Confused to who said that, you turn around to see Bucky Barnes leaning on your door frame shirtless in his gray sweats. He had that morning hair and the deep morning voice that just made you get chills all over your spine.

You blush, "thank you Bucky, I'll go with the red one then."

You try not to stare so long at him and all his glory but you couldn't help but notice the way his arm muscles stretched as he leaned against your door.

"I'll see you out there?" He asked, sizing you up and down. "Yeah, I'll see you downstairs."

You turn back around to your mirror and watch him leave in the reflection. You continue to stare and bite your lip as he leaves. He looked so good when he wakes up in the mornings, you couldn't help but watch him as he walked back to his room. The metal arm, the grey sweats, the abs what more could you ask for in a guy? Not to mention, his adorable personality. Ever since he moved into the Avengers tower, you've been a wreck. I mean how can you not fall for a man as handsome as he is? You quickly put on the red tank top and walked towards the stairs.

"Can't wait to go on a run" you said sarcastically.

"Well good morning everyone! You guys ready for our run?" Steve smirked.
"Let's make this quick Rogers, we have a meeting today with the United Nations. We are discussing something called The Accords." Tony replied
"Well what happened Stark?" Nat asked
"I'm sorry, I can't talk about it now. I promise we will go over everything at the meeting." Tony said

Everyone's energy seem to have died down after Tony brought up this "family meeting" with the United Nations. Why couldn't he just tell us the news now? You suddenly start feeling this pit in your stomach, the anxiety seems to have kicked in.

You thought to yourself: "Are we in trouble?" "Are they going to take us away from each other?" "Are we going to jail?"

You soon begin to dig your nails into your hands as you create a fist. It was your anxiety tell, you always did this when you were nervous.

"I'm sure it's nothing Y/N, no need to stress." Bucky says as he grabs your hand. "You're going to hurt yourself one day doll."

He holds your hand and looks at you with his steel blue eyes. Suddenly every ounce of stress seems to go away, all you could think about is him and the way he cared for you. He treated you like the only girl in the world and you've never felt happier. Yet you've never spoken out loud about your feelings towards one another.

"Thank you Buck, I needed that."
"Of course Y/N, I won't let anyone hurt you."

As he continued to hold your hand, you rested your head on his arm. He kissed your forehead and let out a little chuckle.

"What's so funny Barnes?" You looked up at him
"Oh nothing Y/N." He continued to giggle under his breath.
"Oh come on Buck, what's so funny?"
"It's just, you're so... short. You can't even reach my shoulder to lay your head." He continued to laugh at you in a playful manner.
"Oh screw you!" You pushed him away laughing with him.

He pulled you back into his reach and gave you another kiss on the forehead as you guys continued to laugh it out. The stress continued to melt away and you felt at peace with the storm around you. How could anything go wrong when you had Bucky by your side. We'll all be fine, right?

"Well are we gonna go on this run or not?" Steve laughed as he tried to change the subject.
"I'm with you Cap!" Said Nat

The team all went for their run together, not prepared for what is going to happen later that evening with the United Nations.
