A light dusting of snow had continued to fall on the town. The air was filled with laughter and music while the streets were filled with people dancing, eating and just enjoying company of others. Corinna admired other people, eavesdropping on conversations and just people watching. She wondered what it was like to live a life like theirs.
Corinna was seated at a bench while Anakin grabbed two more cups of the hot chocolate bantha milk, this would be their fourth already.
"I cannot get enough of this." he chuckled, slamming down another one. Corinna shook her head while laughing at the Jedi. Something about seeing him like this was so pure to her.
"I'll be sure there is plenty in the castle for you."Corinna looked over to a group of children pelting each other with snowballs. She was so focused on watching this interaction that she hadn't noticed that Anakin too had picked up a ball of snow, aiming carefully.
Suddenly, Corinna felt a hard smack on her shoulder. Pieces of snow flying across her. The princess yelped in shock before holding her now wet shoulder.
"Wha-How dare you?" she snapped, quickly grabbing a pile of snow and flinging it in Anakin's direction. The ball pelted him right in the gut, causing him to tussle over. Anakin, now bent over, had grabbed a ball in each hand. He threw one and then another, both hitting Corinna in the stomach. She turned around to grab more snow and by the time she stood back up to toss it, Anakin was gone.
"Anakin?" she called, dropping her arm to her side.
"Ani-" she stared again before a figure snatched her up off her feet. Anakin flung her over his shoulder and spun her around in circles.
"Anakin! Put me down." she giggled lightly beating on his back.
"Okay." he said, carrying her over to a very large pile of snow.
"Ani, don't you dare." she warned, but Anakin didn't care.He tossed her onto the pile of fluffy white snow. The princess almost disappearing as she made contact. Corinna started to laugh although she was stuck in the snow.
"I'm stuck..." she grumbled, trying to reach for anything to get out. Anakin stood above her and laughed hysterically.
"Please, help." she begged, sticking bother her hands out. Anakin grabbed them, wrapping his hands around her wrists. In a second, Corinna pulled him towards her into the snow. The Jedi flopped onto her. She had meant to pull him into the snow but only managed to pull him a centimeter away from her. Anakin laid there with her so close and he found himself never wanting to leave. He felt her heart beat against his chest, he felt it getting faster the longer he stayed there. Corinna's breath hitched as he stared into her eyes, the two now stuck in a trance.
"Anakin..." Corinna exhaled his name as she slowly reached up, tucking a strand of his long hair out of his face. Anakin felt weak around her, he wanted to give in and close the space between them.It was like Corinna could read his mind or see it on his face. She placed her hand on the back of his neck and pulled his face closer to her's. She couldn't resist any longer. Their lips finally locked, gliding against each other smoothly. Anakin's hands ran up her sides and through the snow, grasping her as if to keep her close.
The kiss grew more heated, almost hungry for it. They both wanted it for so long yet tried to fight the urge. Neither of them being strong enough to resist the need. Anakin's lips were softer then she expected and his kiss was rough yet delicate enough to make her feel comfortable.
Eventually, the kiss ended as soon as it had begun. Anakin pulled away quickly once he realized how wrong it was. The Jedi jumped to his feet and helped Corinna out of the snow pile.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." Corinna uttered, feeling uncomfortable very quickly.
"No, I shouldn't have...I know better." Anakin couldn't look her in the eyes, making her feel even more stupid in the moment.
"We should go before it gets dark." Anakin swiftly urged, turning away and leaving her in the cold, wet pile of snow.
