A few days had come and gone and there was no sign of Corinna's attacker. He hadn't made a move since that day by the cave and Corinna was starting to get anxious over it. Any moment could be his next attack and maybe he would succeed. She felt like a sitting duck waiting for her death.

She sat in an overly large chair near a fireplace in the main living room. A book in her hands as she skimmed through the pages. The princess wasn't really in the mood for reading lately. She wasn't really in the mood to do anything anymore. Corinna sighed dramatically loud before shutting the book and tossing it onto the coffee table in front of her.
"What's wrong?" she heard her mother say from the entrance.
"I didn't see you there."
"I was just walking past until I heard you sigh, so..."

The Queen strolled into the room and took a place on the couch across from Corinna.
"Nothing, just bored." Corinna lied, leaning back in her seat.
"Now I know that's not true..."

Damn she was good.
"...you always have something to do and even if you don't, you'll find something."
"I just don't know what to do today." Corinna slouching ever so slightly. Her mother looked at her sadly. She could see how much Corinna has changed for the worst the past week. She started to feel bad, she wasn't there for her daughter as much as she should have been.
"How about you and Anakin go out and explore the town before the snow storm tonight?" the Queen suggested.
"No, I just don't want to go out."

The Queen watched her intently, trying to study her actions and see if she could figure it out on her own.
"Well, there's plenty of games you and Anakin can-"
"I don't really want to play games with Anakin." Corinna snapped, cutting her mother off.

There it was.
"So, it's Anakin?" the Queen smirked smugly.
"What? Anakin? No?" Corinna stammered.
"Did he do something?"
"No, no." Corinna jumped up in her seat and sat straighter. The Queen continued to smile to herself.
"Right, well...I will tell you something, whatever happened, I'm sure you two will figure it out. I can tell you both like spending time together." the Queen rose from the couch and headed towards the door.
"We will see I guess." Corinna uttered, turning her head to the side to avoid eye contact.

The Queen chuckled quietly before exiting the room, only to pop back in for a second.
"Oh and dear?" she called. Corinna turned back to her mom and gave her a questioning look.
"Hmm?"
"I'm sure Anakin feels the same way."

Corinna was left with her mouth agape and a confused feeling in the pit of her stomach.

Anakin entered the room as the Queen was leaving. Corinna's mother gave Anakin a cheeky grin as she left. Corinna quickly shut her mouth and gained her composure.
"Good morning princess." he chirped, very lively today.
"Good morning."
"So, I heard that there is a winter festival tomorrow...I assume you'd like to go?" Anakin, with his hands behind his back, walked further into the room and took a seat across from Corinna.
"I don't think so, with everything going on..." she drifted off, suddenly feeling awkward around Anakin after confessing how she felt.
"I'll be there to protect you princess."
"I guess we can go for a little. But I don't want to be out long, I don't want to risk anything."

Anakin nodded in agreement as the two stopped talking. It felt awkward again and he started to miss how she was only a few days ago.
"Princess?" he hummed, getting her attention once more.
"I asked you to call me Corinna." she forced a laugh.
"I know, but I like calling you princess." Anakin cocked his head to the side and gave her a lop-sided smile. Corinna grinned at the sight, something about that smile made her feel better.
"Well then I need to give you a nickname."

The Jedi sat back and thought for a moment.
"Ani." he said after a second of thinking.
"Ani? I like that."
"My mother used to call me that." his smile faded at the mention of his mother. Corinna gave him a questioning look. She was now curious about his family life. Are Jedi allowed to see their families if they weren't supposed to have attachments?
"You've never mentioned your mother before." Corinna uttered softly.
"She uh-passed...few years ago." he stammered uncomfortably.
