nini walked up to luke's front door and took a deep breath before she rang his doorbell. a few seconds later, nini saw luke's smile flashing her. "hey," he breathed out. nini gave him an awkward smile before she walked passed him. the girl looked around his house and saw all of his pictures with his parents. the girl let out a soft smile as she looked at baby luke and his instruments. he was so small.

"my dad always said my guitar was too big for me but i never cared," luke told her as he stood behind her. nini let out a soft laugh before turning around to face luke.

"you said you lived near me," nini told him, "but you live across town, why'd you lie?"

"cause i wanted to pick you up for school."

"but i live so out of reach from you," nini explained, "it's a waste of gas.. i don't get it."

"nini-i..i really liked you," luke told her with a smile, "its was worth it to me."

nini looked at luke in the eyes and nodded her head, "mhm... liked...was worth it. we're speaking in the past tense here, patterson."

luke looked down at the floor and nodded his head, "uh.. yeah. that's what i wanted to talk to you about."

nini made her way to luke's couch and the boy followed her. they both sat down next to each other, "listen nini... i think you're an amazing girl. you're funny, sweet, gorgeous, talented.. just overall amazing-"

"-but you like julie," nini said, cutting luke off. the boy looked up from the floor and up at nini with guilt.

"i think i do," luke softly said and shook his head, "i don't know. i'm so confused, nini. i'm really conflicted because of everything that happened at carrie's party..."

"right...that."

"i'm sorry about everything. i didn't mean to hurt you or invade your privacy and life like that," luke apologized, "i was stupid. i shouldn't have forced myself into your life. i'm sorry for breaking your trust and hurting your feelings. i regret it so much."
