TRUTH ABOUT A GIRL

Some say,

Girls of this generation

Are so in vain,

Seemed so fine

Coz, they drain all their own

On their face,

Why not on a book? ,

That really has a phrase!

I thought so too,

All they all do,

To look pretty

To look perfect

Some say,

Big boobs or an ass,

Thin waist or f**k at last, (I changed "f**k at last "to "maybe something else")

You call them 'pretty!' ?,

I call them 'disordered'

Real beauty has no meaning now!

Plastic, the only thing I see

They tell you awareness on fairness,

Criticize!, useless!

I don't want to be Kim k

I want to be me OK!

Let it be, let me be

I want to live

I want to be free

Be safe!

How can it be

MASCULINITY!, It surrounds me

Am I a feminist? , an atheist?

socialist? , sexist? ,

why? I am not a rapist!

they say,

"girls don't do that"

"cannot do that"

"shouldn't do that"

you know,

Girls fear because they are 'born girls'

They've always lived in fear

They don't know "what's freedom?"

You want to rise!,

But they just can't

Coz, they said 'girls can't! '

Listen, 'you don't need a man'

'be a man' some say!,

I say, 'love you', for you are you, disrespect is what defiles you,

stand strong!,

as you are meant to

That's the truth about being a girl of this generation,

Be a flame,

That light, in every name

light and dark

day or night

Can I spread a ripple chain

To other women to make a change

To make out, a Dimple

I said too much,

I dreamt to high,

Will I be?

I don't want to be a burden,

But I don't know if I will be 'the one'

Will I?

Obstacles arounds me,

I am in Indian, a female, unsupported, unconfident

The idols I have,

Charted so high,

I am scared,

what if they call me mad, loser, worst! A failure!

what if? , what if! ,

The thing that keeps me going my music, my muse

A passion, a hope, a Spark

I, as a light,

Is caged in darkness

because, I am just a girl!

This is the truth of every girl who dreams in this generation

saying,

'I can't stop now, I've come so far'

this is the truth of being a girl of this generation
