Today Daveon wanted me to go with him to meet his mom, siblings and step dad. I was more than nervous because I never met anybody's parents.
"Daveon do you think they'll like me?" I said while playing with my fingers.
"They gon love you. Especially India. She gon start hanging with you and Chrissy I see it. Cam gon be tryna talk to you." He said and we both laughed.
"So what time we going over there?" I asked him while playing with his shirt.
"In two hours. You must tryna do sum." He said while looking up at me. I nodded and you know what happened after that.
It was finally time for us to go over Daveon's parents house and nervous wasn't the word. We were in the car on our way there and we pulled up in no time.
"You ready mama?" Daveon said while looking at me.
"No. I'm scared. What if your mom thinks you can do better than me? What if they don't like me?" I said while looking at him.
"You're overthinking it. If they don't like you cool I'm not gon let my family have a influence on the way I see you. Them liking you is just a win win." Daveon said while moving my hair out the way and wiping my tears.
I'm a very emotional person. I've always wanted to know what people thought of me and how I was perceived to others. It wasn't my fault it was just how I came out to be.
After I finally calmed down me and Dave knocked on the door and this girl with tattoos opened the door.
"Oh my god Daveon is this the girl you been going crazy about? I'm India!" She said excitedly and she let us in.
"Oh so you not gon acknowledge me huh?" Dave said while looking at her.
"Boy fuck you it's not about you right now." She said and slapped him.
Three others came downstairs and they all looked happy to see meet me.
"I'm Kimberly I'm Daveons mom your so pretty honey." She said while pulling me into a hug.
"I'm Chris. I'm Dave's stepdad. I see why he's so crazy over you." Chris said while hugging me.
"Wassup. I'm Cam and I'm India twin brother." He said while hugging me. "You look good too." He said while licking his lips.
"Mannn Cam get back dude." Dave said and I laughed.
"I'm Zaniyah it's so nice to meet all of y'all. It's a pleasure." I said while smiling.
They all walked to the kitchen and Cam walked over and put his arm around me. "So what the business is Niyah. Stop fucking with Dave and come fuck with a real nigga." He said while looking down at me.
"Boy move. I'm not leaving Dave. You too young for me baby." I said while laughing.
"Stop harassing her ole big head ass nigga for me and Daveon jump yo ass." India said while bucking at Cam.
We all sat around the table and prayed. "Okay so tell me how you and Dave met baby." Mrs Kimberly said while passing the food around.
"Quite tragic actually." I said as I put my head down. "Sooo I ran away from my abusive boyfriend and I slept in the alleyway. I saw him kill somebody and he seemed like he was about to hurt me but once he found out my situation he was okay." I said while forcing a fake smile. It was still hard for me to talk about it.
"Oh baby. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I wouldn't wish that on anybody." She said as she stood up and hugged me.
His mom had cooked a whole big soul food feast and it was sooo good. We had a good time talking while we were eating and they wanted to play games afterwards and I'm competitive so we'll see how this goes.
"Ight so we finna play mortal kombat right now. First it's gon be me vs Chris. Then India vs Zaniyah and Cam vs Dave." Mrs Kimberly said.
"Let's play for a hundred. Whoever win gets the hundred." Cam said and we all nodded.
Her and Chris played and she had Scorpion and he had Sub Zero. After 3 rounds of them going back and forth Mrs Kimberly won. "Yeaaa nigga. Don't play with me." She yelled in Chris' face and Chris bucked at her and she started laughing.
Next. It was me and India's turn to play. "I hope you ready to get beat. I'm going home $100 richer." I said while laughing.
"Yeaaa we'll see bout that miss thang." She said while picking up the controller. She picked Cassie Cage and I picked Jax. They chose the wrong game I'm goated at this shit.
I beat her of course. "Good game girl." I said while laughing.
Now it was time for Daveon and Cam. Daveon chose Erron Black while cam chose D'Vorah. It was a close game but Daveon won. So now it was him versus his mom. They kept the same characters and he beat his mom.
"I hope you ready to lose." I said while bucking at him and he didn't even flinch he just laughed.
We played and it was a real close game but I beat him. "Yeaaa nigga. I told you!" I said while standing in his face and he grabbed my neck and pulled me down to kiss him. Damn in front of the whole family?
"I like herrrr she lit." India said and everybody else agreed. I'm glad they liked me. It was just a stress taken off my shoulder knowing that I wasn't a problem nor threat towards them. ____________________________________ Miss girl meeting family and shit go aheadddd.
