Right now I was having breakfast with Chrissy, Gio and her kids. I scrunched my face up as the whiff of bacon hit my nose.
I jumped up to run and throw up in the toilet. I felt somebody rubbing my back which I noticed was Chrissy.
"How long have you been feeling like this Zaniyah?" Chrissy asked me while picking me up and sitting me on the tub.
"For about 6 weeks." I said.
"You don't think you pregnant are you Zaniyah?" You're having the same symptoms I had and you getting a lil thicker." She asked me. I thought about it and I'm just now noticing that I haven't had a period for the last two months.
"I haven't had my period." I said while dropping my head.
"We gotta get you a test, but come on. Get up we need to get you something to eat." Chrissy said while pulling me up and walking with me to the kitchen.
"What's wrong baby?" Daveon asked me while sitting beside me and rubbing my back.
"I'm a little sick. Nothing major.." I said while picking my fork up. The smell of the food made me so nauseous I didn't even want to eat but I forced myself. If I was pregnant I didn't want to hurt my baby.
We finished eating and we sat around the house and watched Love and Basketball. I was laying on Daveon. I was scared as hell about how he would react if I was pregnant. What if he didn't want the baby? What if he starts acting different after the baby comes?
"Babe can you let me up?" I asked lowly and he looked at me weird and let me go. I grabbed Chrissy and pulled her into the room with me.
"I need to figure out if I'm pregnant." I said. She pulled 3 pregnancy tests out of her purse. "You walk around with pregnancy tests?" I asked while laughing.
"Girlll yeaaa you been acting weird. I just wanted to see when you were ready." She said while laughing.
I went to the bathroom and took all the tests and set a timer for 5 minutes. I went out and sat beside Chrissy.
"If you are pregnant you think y'all ready?" Chrissy said while turning towards me.
"I'm scared as hell. What if he don't want the baby Chrissy? What if he's not ready?" I said while breaking down.
"Niyah don't even do that. You know daveon wouldn't do you like that. You see how he acts with Cairo and the twins. He'll be a perfect dad. Don't worry." Chrissy said while giving me a small smile.
The timer went off and to say I was scared was a huge understatement. I cut my timer off and set my phone down and stared at the wall for a few minutes.
"Come on Niyah. I don't want you to be scared. I was scared too but once you get that reassurance you gon be happy." She said and I smiled.
I got up to and went to the bathroom and stared at the tests on the sink. They were flipped over so I flipped them over and looked at them.
All three said I was pregnant. I just stared at the test and a tear rolled down my face. How the hell am I gonna tell Dave? I need to tell him quick.
I wiped my tears and walked back into me and Dave's bedroom and gave Chrissy the tests. She smiled. "Congratulations baby." She said while hugging me and I just stood there crying.
I'm not mad I'm pregnant. Just kind of shocked. All of these what ifs kept floating through my head and it was making me so stressed out. I needed to tell him as soon as possible to get this off my chest.
"Are you mad?" Chrissy said. "You haven't smiled yet." I shook my head.
"I'm not mad. I'm really just shocked. I never thought I would get to this point and now here I am. I just want the best for my baby and I'm scared that I can't be that." I said and I cried and Chrissy pulled me to her and hugged me.
"You'll be the perfect mom. You're the perfect big sister and auntie. You and Daveon will be fine. He would never do anything to hurt you or the baby." She said.
"Go get Daveon for me please. I want to tell him now to go ahead and get this feeling he isn't gonna want the baby off me." I said and she nodded and got up and left.
About 3 minutes later Daveon came in while eating some hot funyuns.
"Hey baby what you need?" He asked while smiling at me. I sighed.
"Daveon sit down please." I told him and his smile dropped and he did as I said.
I took a deep breath. "Daveon. I'm pregnant. It's okay if you don't want to keep the baby I understand." I started and he cut me off.
"Say that again?" He said while looking at me while tilting his head. This is what I was scared of. He's not gonna want the baby.
"I'm pregnant." I said as I dropped my head and tears rolled down my face.
A huge smile broke out on his face. "You having my baby?" He asked me while standing up and I nodded. He started jumping up and down and he pulled me into a hug.
"Thank you. I wouldn't want to have kids by anybody else." He said while kissing me.
"I thought you wouldn't want the baby. I thought you didn't want to take that step with me." I said. He wiped my face my pulled my face up to look him in his eyes.
"Don't ever think that. Y'all are my world. Me without y'all wouldn't even be right. I love you. I'll never abandon you and my child." He said.
"I love you too." I said while smiling. ____________________________________
