A clap of thunder was enough to send you reeling to the ground from your desk chair. It's not that everything scared you all the time, but you were high-strung from a fear of loud or sudden noises you've had since you were five.

You crashed loudly enough to surely alert your beloved, and roommate, Toko. If anyone else made this much noise because of a storm, she'd have a raging fit to tell them to stop being such a crybaby. But when it came to you, she became soft, even calmer in a way. She would always be Toko though, fierce and confident about the first thought or opinion that popped in her head.

Much like how you thought it would happen, Toko burst into the room, panting heavily from trampling over the halls to get to you. "Wh-wh-what happened?! I heard a h-h-huge crash from the library!?" She swiftly tumbled over herself, clinging on to you as you both wound up on the floor together. As you accidentally let out a small chuckle, Toko looked questioningly at you.

"W-w-well if you're just g-going to laugh at me, m-maybe I shouldn't have helped you a-afterall-!!" As you were about to explain why you thought it was fair to laugh, a huge boom of thunder and a stab of lightning surfaced on to the earth. You held back a blood-curdling shriek, however you couldn't help but let out a timid whimper at the sheer loudness of the thunder.

Toko, immediately taking notice of your reaction, quickly understood how you ended up down here in the first place. "Y-y-you're scared of...thunder? And to think you l-laughed at m-me!" She meanly joked, but shakily and awkwardly pulled you into a hug. She did her best to pat your head, occasionally stroking your hair downward. Toko wasn't the most compassionate partner ever, but she still cared, and she often showed it in her own strange little ways.

As another clap of thunder sounded, you huddled closer to Toko instinctually. You hadn't noticed at the time, as your mind was so pre-ocupied by your fear, but you had accidentally bristled Toko's nose with your hair, to which she jittered at. "W-w-wait, (y/n)- ACHOO!!" As Toko sneezed loudly, she went limp for a moment against you. Regaining her composure quickly, she looked you up and down, seemingly scrutinizing every little detail of expression on your face. "T...Toko? Are you okay?" You spoke quietly, taking her hands into yours. "Toko" swiftly and strongly pushed you off her, releasing a maniacal, wicked laugh.

"KYEYAHAHAHAHAHA!!" As this strange version of Toko laughed, she stuck her tongue out, her expression feeling more sinister and deranged. You make a clear movement to back up, scared of the girl in front of you. "You...you're not Toko! Wh-who are you?!" "Huh?! I could damn well be askin' the same of you, you oaf! Who the hell do you think you are, grabbing my hands like we're some kind of couple!?" Once again, this crazed Toko looked hard at you with a sharp gaze. "Hrm hrm, and you're not even cute enough to kill, no matter how you identify! Geez, what's that old bookworm hag even doing with boring people like you?!"

"S-stop it! Hang on a minute, just who the hell are you?!" After being ignored once, you were starting to get fed up, rage wavering through your voice as you spoke. She broke from her consistent laughter, instead turning to glare at you. "The hell? You mean to tell me you can't tell a serial killer extraordinaire when she's right in front of you!?" She threatened, jabbing a sharp pair of scissors she pulled from her skirt into your direction. Serial killer?!

In a split second it clicked. "Genocide Jack?!" You yelped, a thunderclap sounded only to increase your ever-heightening fear. Before you become anymore terrified, your legs gave out from underneath you as the sweet sound of Toko's sneeze cut through the noise.

"(y-y-y/n)! Are you ok-k-kay?! You m-m-met her, didn't you?!" When you could only silently nod to Toko, her face fell to a frown. "I'm so s-s-sorry, (y/n)! I wasn't planning on her ever getting out again!" Toko grasped back onto your shoulders as she sat down next to you, apologizing profusely for not being able to keep you safe. You just need to breathe for a second, recollecting yourself in your disastrous state.

"I-it's okay Toko! I'm..I'm okay...Just..a little nervous is all! It's not your fault.." You soon became the one giving comfort to her, as she rambled on. Expectedly, you both fell asleep in your spots on the floor, becoming the other's main comfort object into the rainy, stormy, and stressful night.
