Someone requested this, so I hope it's good. This is an SMP au thing. Also, slight spoilers? I updated this on a school night- oh no.

Pronouns: they/them

You sighed as you watched your friend nervously tug at his hair. He was settled at his desk, completely overworked with formal papers and such scattered about him. Even though he tried his best to make it look like he had little to do as president, behind closed doors was when he would constantly break down. It seemed to have gotten worse when he had to exile Tommy, as well.

"Tubbo?" You called quietly, causing the exhausted boy to look up at you with his blue eyes swelling with tears. You winced at the look of misery splayed across his face and Tubbo tried his best to blink away the tears.

"Hey, [Nickname]," he sent you an awkward smile as you frowned. "Do you need anything?" You shook your head and he tilted his own, "then why are you here?"

"I just wanted to check up on you. See how Mr. President's doing," you gave him a lazy grin and he sighed, "Do you wanna take a break? You're not used to so much work-"

"It's fine," Tubbo rubbed his temples as he set down his pen, leaning on one of his elbows. "It's really late, [Y/N], you should get going." He tiredly waved you off and you frowned, slinking out of the room and closing the door gently.

You wanted to make sure Tubbo was okay.

You winced as you managed to pry the fishing hook off of your sleeve, having managed to scratch your arm in the process. You rolled up your sleeves and, trying to get the line as far as possible, you nearly tossed yourself into the large body of water.

A grin crossed your features as you thought about potentially pulling something up that would make Tubbo's day. Maybe a name tag? Or- no. He wouldn't like anything you pulled up.

You heaved a sigh and stood up, reeling the line in before a sudden tug pulled at the hook. You gasped and hurried to reel it in as fast as you could, holding the line to see a pufferfish. You winced and hurried to fill a bucket with some water, trying your best to not let the pufferfish touch you. Placing the fishing rod in your bag, you began making your way toward Tubbo.

"He'll love it!" You cheered, practically beaming as you walked into the large building Tubbo had been staying in to work. You made sure that none of the water spilled as you skipped into his room and peaked in, giggling like a kid.

"Tubbo," you sing songed, causing the teen to look over at you and force a smile. "I have something for you." With that, you opened to door and, with a grin, walked into the room displaying the chunky pufferfish. Tubbo gaped silently as you set the bucket on his desk before you gave him some carrots. "Feed it."

With a confused look, he neared the carrot toward the pufferfish, to which the fish successfully bit off a piece with little to no struggle. He giggled and fed it once more, to which another piece of the carrot was broken off. He looked towards you with a more genuine grin, obviously still tired.

"Did you know Phil used to try and make pufferfish noises to get me to stop crying?" You nodded at the information. He had told you about the small details of when he was a kid, from the blurs before the Sleepy Bois to when he was growing up. "He said that I sounded like a chipmunk whenever he did it. Don't know how that was relevant-"

"You looked like Theodore, then?" You questioned, causing the brunet to let out a surprised laugh.

"Yeah," he giggled as he went back to feeding the pufferfish.

"Gweh." The sound made both you and him jump before you began laughing, later joined by a confused but still joyful Tubbo.

"What was that noise?" You wheezed, falling onto the floor in surprise, face scrunched as you did so. Tubbo was leaning back in his chair, holding the carrot as he, too, chortled.

"I-I don't know-" he choked out, tilting his head back, "but- but this-" he didn't get to finish his sentence before he toppled out of his chair and onto the floor. He clutched his stomach, shoulders shaking as he gasped for breath.

"Hey, Tubbo," the sudden voice of an enderman half breed made the two shoot up, wiping the tears of laughter from their eyes. "Oh, sorry. I think I'm interrupting something. I forgot what I came in here to say, anyway. Have a good day." Raising a hand in a short apology, Ranboo closed the door as the two of you stared it down before turning to each other.

"Gweh." The poor imitation of Tubbo's new pet made you burst out laughing once more, tears coming to your eyes as the two of you relished in the moment.

"Gweh." The two of you calmed down and you inhaled, closing your eyes before they snapped open and you finally remembered something.

"You know, I used to call these 'Sea Bees' when I was younger." That only made Tubbo laugh harder and he gasped for air, choking out a few words.

"OH MY GOD, YOURE AN ACTUAL GENIUS."
