Chapter One ~ The start

The silent room sprung to life when the loud ring of the bell signalled that class was over, waking up one of the students

The black haired boy jumped up and shoved everything on his desk into his backpack before trying to escape the classroom without...

"Kim Taehyung!" The professor spoke

Ah shit... this was the exact thing he was avoiding

"Y-yes sir" Taehyung span around with a fake smile plastered on his face

"Can I speak to you for a moment?" The professor asked sitting down at his desk and taehyung was quick to nod and walk over closer

The man chuckled before starting "You've somehow managed to go from my top student to the worst one I've ever had, you've either been sleeping throughout class or just not paying any attention at all within just a few weeks, what's going on?"

"I-I'm sorry I promise I'll do better" Taehyung lowered his head

"You better if you want any job in psychology- or even a degree" the old man looked at his student and could tell something was up "is everything okay at home?"

"Yeah I'm not getting much sleep is all" Taehyung unenthusiastically laughed

"Look, there's a task coming up soon and I hope that you'll put effort into this one, I want you to put in the extra work that you would usually do, take it one step further"

"Yes sir, I'll do my best"

"So he just let you off?" A orange haired boy asked, Taehyung sat down on the benches outside where his friends were, after getting food from the cafeteria

Taehyung nodded and the shorter scoffed

"He's like one of the meanest men I've ever met" Jin added

"It's cause tae's his favourite" jimin rolled his eyes

"How did you get in trouble in the first place?" Hoseok laughed putting his arm around the younger "you're the biggest teachers pet I've ever known, what could Kim Taehyung possibly do wrong"

"I fell asleep in class" Taehyung whispered

"Oh shit" Jimin smirked "Has Jennie been keeping you up?" He winked and taehyung lightly hit his arm

"Yes... but, but not like that... ever since I moved in with her I haven't got even a minute of sleep, I always end up with a mouth full of hair or a dead arm and if I try to get away she pushes me out of the bed"

"That's why I'm gay" Jimin laughed

"That's why I'm single" hoseok added

The oldest smirked "can't relate"

"Ah shut up don't rub your happiness in our faces" jimin rolled his eyes "where is your boyfriend anyway?"

"Joons still in class"

"TAE!" Jimin screamed As if he wasn't right next to him "my roommates gone next week so you can sleep at mine if you'd like?"

"Thank you Honestly that would be amazing..." the boy thought for a moment "...how come I can never stay there when your roommates is there? Why haven't you introduced us to him yet"

Jimin completely ignored the younger "Anything to get you away from that bitch I'll do it, even if it is just for a week"

Taehyung looked at him, a little pissed off "don't call her that"

"What? The girl calls me a fag and yet I can't call her a bitch" the smaller scoffs

"She's never called you that" Taehyung started getting defensive, he knew all of his friends hated his girlfriend but he couldn't see why, she always was so nice to them, or so that's what Taehyung thought

"That you've heard, you're not always in the room tae ....she's the devil"

"Can we drop this now!, we don't want anyone to get slapped or any hair pulling like what happened last week!" Jin tried to end the argument before it begun

When Taehyung opened the door to his apartment he could immediately hear Jennie's voice

"Ok see you later" the girl said as Taehyung walked into the living room

"Hey you're home" Jennie said not taking her eyes off of her phone

"Hey... oh I'm going to be staying at jimins for a couple days since his roommates away and he doesn't like being there alone" the boy lied and Jennie finally looked at the older

"Oh... jimin.... great" she said rolling her eyes

"Do you have a problem with him?"

"No jimins fine it's just... I'm not a fan of his kind"

Taehyung looked at her, confused "his kind? Short people?"

"What no" Jennie laughed "yanno What never mind" the girl stood up and placed a peck on taehyungs lips "I'm going to hang out with Lisa... do whatever you like"

A week later~

"So, class, today since we have been focusing on how to spot certain mental illnesses, I want you to talk to someone with an illness and see what you can work out about them without being told anything that's already been confirmed by doctors, think of them as one of the case studies we've been doing, you'll need to do 12 hours of work, that doesn't matter if it's all in one day or multiple weeks but it must be done by this time next month, any questions?" The professor asked sitting back down at his desk

When the class didn't respond he carried on "ok well that's everything for today, you may all leave... besides Taehyung" all the students looked over to the black haired boy before getting to their feet and leaving

"Yes sir" Taehyung Walked over to the old mans desk

"Here" the professor handed him a note with an address on "I told you I wanted you to take an extra step, most of the students will most likely be talking to their bipolar parents or crazy aunties to get it over fast but I want you to work with someone more... complex"

Taehyung looked at the note and immediately recognised the name "this is to a mental hospital"

"Yes, someone I went to college with works there and I called in a favour, I want you to talk with one of her patients and I'm expecting a full report, do you have a problem with this?"

"No sir" the boy shook his head and put the note in his bag

"I'm putting a lot of faith in you, don't let me down"
