(DECONSECRATED) FRANXX vs. EVA01

Chapter 2.

     "Ugh... Ow, ow!" Shinji grunted as he was brought out of his slumber. A sharp pain had afflicted his leg, like if someone with sharp nails had scratched it. As his eyes adjusted he realized that he couldn't freely move the Eva. It appeared to be trapped underneath something heavy, he assumed rocks as small beams of light shined through the cracks of what was trapping him. He tried moving his right arm, it seemed to be one of the only parts of him that stuck out of his entrapment. Unfortunately, he could only wiggle its fingers.

     "Ah! The fingers! The fingers are moving!" Zorome's freaked out voice sounding over the comms as the Klaxosaurs finally arrived, leaping towards the two FRANXX's. 

     Delphinium managed to react fast enough to impale the aggressive opponent with one blade, while the other searched for where the core would be. It finally settled for the most central part of the underbelly, viciously plunging into it. The Klaxosaur cried out, before dissolving into cloud of blue liquid. Before they could celebrate this small victory, two more pounced simultaneously. 

     "Ha!" Goro cried out, dodging one and using the other's momentum to toss it into the crater. "Zorome! Futoshi! You have company!" 

     "Gotcha. Come here!" Genista took a stance, spreading its legs to the sides, and holding its arms out, like it was about to give a hug. The Klaxosaur, having recovered slightly from its sudden fall, growled at Genista slowing approaching it like a tiger about to pounce on its prey...

     "What's going on? Fighting? Who's fighting who?" Shinji asked to no one in particular. He had stopped trying to move, due to all the shaking that seemed to occur around him. He heard roars and sounds of clashing between two beings unknown to him. He curled up in a ball, his confusion and his inability to not move moving him closer and closer to breaking down. He didn't know where he was. He didn't know what to do. He felt alone. Like when he had been in the pool of LCL. But of course, he knew that last statement wasn't true. His mother was with him. He recalled her words to him.

     "Decide whether you will want to be alone, or face the pain and joy of others."

     Shinji curled up even tighter, before letting out a cry of frustration. He didn't want to choose. He wanted someone else to make the choice for him. But he knew that wasn't an option, or a solution that would work. It all came down to him. Tears streamed down his face, his inability to choose stirring up many emotions in his heart. He kept crying, letting all these emotions flow out of his heart. Once many of them drained out of him, he was finally left with some sense of clarity. He opened his previously shut eyes, and sat properly in his seat. Although there were still emotions and thoughts that made him doubt, he would face them later. He wiped the tears from his face before saying,

     "So be it. I'll play along, I've been playing along since the beginning. I mustn't run away."

     "Mother... Mother, help me."

...

     "BOOM!"

     Hiro was nearly blinded as he shielded his eyes away from the blinding, white light. Everyone in the control room did the same. Genista and Argentea were blown by the force of the explosion into the wall of the crater. The Klaxosaur dug its feet into the ground, before eventually succumbing to the sheer force and was pushed into the wall as well. The other FRANXX's and Klaxosaurs all stopped fighting to watch as a cross shaped explosion hovered in the air. it lasted for a few seconds, before slowly dispersing.
