Being the mate to the "sane" twin between Jane and Alec wasn't exactly what I thought it would be when I first met him back in the 16th century. I knew Jane even before I met Alec, and we didn't exactly hit it off. Okay, she threw me into a pillar and left a scar on my back, but that doesn't mean it made Alec love me any less. Once I joined the Volturi guard because my special ability to move matter with my mind was useful to them, I met Alec. The first time my eyes met his, I felt a pull towards him and found out we were mates. Jane was furious. But that was almost 500 years ago. She's grown to tolerate it, but we still get on each other's nerves.

"Sister. They send you out to get one, and you bring back two . . . . and a half. Such a clever girl," Alec praised Jane, who burst through the large oak doors of the Volturi's palace and strutted in with Edward Cullen, Alice Cullen, and Bella Swan. I narrowed my eyes at the three but remained next to Alec.

"What a happy surprise! Bella is alive, after all. Isn't that wonderful? I love a happy ending," Aro exclaimed and stood from his chair in the middle, bouncing over to Edward and Bella. He took Edward's hand in his grasp. He viewed his memories and gasped. "Her blood appeals to you so much it makes me thirsty. How can you stand to be so close to her?"

"It's not without difficulty," Edward hissed.

"Yes, I can see that," Aro stated; the two looked over to Bella, who looked wildly confused.

"Aro can read every thought I've ever had with one-touch," the Cullen explained and turned back to Aro with a glare. "And now you know everything. So get on with it,' he spat. 

"You are quite a soul reader yourself, Edward. Though you can't read Bella's thoughts. Fascinating. I would love to see if you are an exception to my gifts, as well. Would you do me the honor?" Bella hesitated but eventually slipped her hand into Aro's. It failed.

"Interesting. I see nothing. I wonder if . . . . let us see if she's immune to all our powers," the leader walked away from Bella then looked at Jane and me. "Shall we, ladies?"

We looked at Bella when Edward jumped forward. "No!" he barked.

"Pain," Jane whispered, and I forced Edward to the ground, cracking the marble floor. The young vampire began shaking, and I made his arms twist in an odd position while doing the same with his legs. 

"Stop! Stop! Please! Stop!" Isabella pleaded and started to run towards Edward when Alec rushed over to her and held her back. "Stop! Just stop hurting him! Please! Please!" she begged to Aro.

"Jane? Y/N?" Aro said in his feather-like voice. 

We both snapped out of it and replied, "Master?" Edward sighed in relief, but I never put his dislocated limbs back.

"Go ahead, girls," Aro granted, and we looked back over to Bella, Jane with a smirk plastered on her face.

"This may hurt just a little," we both concentrated on the human, but nothing happened; she just stood there, fidgeting slightly. Aro burst into laughs and clapped his hands, making me and Jane jump from our trance.

"Remarkable! She confounds us all. So what do we do with you now?"

"You already know what you're going to do, Aro. She knows too much. She's a liability," Caius cut in.

"That's true. Felix?" Aro huffed, and Alec turned Bella to the side, rushing back to Jane and me.

"No!" Edward barked and stood up, flipping Bella back around. Alice tried to help Edward, who had tackled Felix but was held back by Demetri. We watched a fight unfold between Edward and Felix.

They began dancing around the courtroom as they fought, and I was getting tired that Edward wouldn't just die already. My hand raised, and Felix flew into a pillar while Edward went into mid-air. I beckoned him over, and he hovered to the twins and me.

Jane looked at me to ask if she should use her powers, and I shook my head. I made his jaw go down, and the other half of his head go up, his head slowly started to severe, and he grunted.

"Please! No! No! Please, please!" Bella screeched, and Aro held up his hand, and I stopped but never set him down. "Kill me! Kill me! Not him," she panted, and I whipped Edward around.

"How extraordinary. You would give up your life for someone like us—a vampire. A soulless monster," Aro gawked.

"Just get away from her!" Edward yelled, but I closed his lips, preventing him from talking.

"You don't know a thing about his soul," Bella hissed.

"This is a sadness. If only it were your intention to give her immortality," Aro scolded Edward. He began advancing towards Bella when Alice stopped him.

"Wait! Bella will be one of us. I've seen it. I'll change her myself," Aro froze. Alice got out of Demetri's hold on her and walked over to Aro. 

He took her hand and soon whispered, "mesmerizing. To see what you have seen before it has happened. Your gifts will make for an intriguing immortal, Isabella." He walked away from the two girls. "Go now. Make your preparations," he exclaimed, and I dropped Edward, giving his ability to speak back.

"Let us be done with this. Heidi will arrive at any moment. Thank you for your visit," Marcus grunted with such boredom as he stood up slowly.

"We will return the favor. I would advise that you follow through on your promise soon. We do not offer second chances," Caius added.

"Goodbye, my young friends," Aro told them as the three walked out with Demetri. Once the door closed, I looked over to Alec. He shrugged.

Once Heidi came with many snacks, the entire Volturi were in good moods; even Marcus wasn't his usual gloomy self. The twins and I went up to our area in the castle, and Alec wished Jane goodnight even if we didn't sleep. 

The minute Alec and I got in our room, he pushed me against the wall and roughly kissed my lip. I groaned at the taste of blood still on his tongue and ran a hand through his neat brown hair. I bit his cold lip before pushing him away and giggling.

"Control yourself, Alie," I teased and walked over to my dresser to change out of my black and red robes.

"But how can I control myself if you're this beautiful. Especially after using your powers like that," he whispered in my ear, and I began changing. Once I was finished, I turned around to face him and smirked.

"Well, Mr, I have no control. I thought that after 500 years of being together that you would learn when to make a move. But you still need some practice in that area, I guess," I walked back over to him and fixed the collar of his coat.

The boy snickered and picked me up. Throwing me on the bed we used for only one reason, and we were going to use it again tonight.
