She's family now

The conference room was filled with conversation and discussion. As you walk in, it  became drowned in deafening silence. Peter walks in behind you, he looks at you longingly, wanting to stand beside you and hold your hand, but Tony, who had entered just after him, tapped him on the back and directed him to a chair. You stand in front of all of them: Black Widow, The Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Captain America, even Thor. She was stood in font of a demi-god. Yeah, that's right, little 18 year old from Queens is head to head with a demi-god. Your top lip quivers.

"Umm... Hi." you stutter and look down at your shoes. Your eyes slowly move up as you lock eyes with Nat.

Natasha nodded and mouthed, "It's going to be okay." You take a deep and filling breath.

"Hi, I already know all of your names." Everyone, including yourself, breathed with laughter and waited for your next words. "My name is Y/n Stark." The whole room stares at you, before slowly gawking at Tony who was sat, uncomfortably, at the back of the room, with his hands in his mouth.

Steve questioned, "Tony? You have a daughter?" but Tony stayed silent, which was a surprise for most of the avengers, and looked back at you. Peter started to raise his hand before quickly pushing it back down and asking: "Why did you change your last name to Potts?".

You essentially replayed your life for everyone to hear. How when your Father announced he was Iron Man in 2008, you were forced to change your last name to your mother's, Pepper Potts. How after the Battle of New York, it was no longer safe for you to stay with your parents so you got shipped of the boarding school in England and was ordered to never contact your Dad again. How you had been replicating your Dad's Iron Man suit all them years you had been tucked away in another corner of the world. How when you heard about what was happening with Ultron, a 10 year old y/n flew to Sokovia and fought him head-to-head. And how as the city collapsed and the magnets holding it together were damaged, you got caught in an electromagnetic field which made you magnetic... and electric apparently. How you returned to England, never telling anyone you were ever there. Never telling anyone who you really were. Never telling anyone the powers you now possessed. The whole conference room drowned in suspension. The silence pricks at your ears like the burning cold does on a bitter winter morning. Tony sat uncomfortably at the back of the room, ashamed he was so oblivious to his daughter's life. Peter nervously looked around, anticipating someone to talk or even make a sound.

"Is it possible you could have more powers?" Nat questioned, cutting through the silence like a knife.

"I didn't know I could manipulate electricity until 2 hours ago so, possibly." you answer. "But I can't control them anyway, I mean, Peter saw what happened with the lights and I wasn't even trying."

"I'll deal with that. We will do some test, read your energy signature, and I will help you control them." Bruce announced from his chair.

"I guess we could start training tomorrow." Nat offered. You gasp. Training? Like with the avengers?

"No, we are not training her, and she is definitely not coming on missions. Not in my lifetime." Tony ordered.

"Please Dad? Just let me learn to control them and then you can make your mind up." you plead. Tony just rolled his eyes and looked away.

"Okay it's a plan. Training starts tomorrow. Wanda and I will start you off and Bruce will help you control them. Somehow." Nat stood out of her chair and started to walk out of the room. "Hey kid, do you want to show her to her room?"

"My room? I have my own room?" you start to fidget excitedly.

"Of course you do. You're family now." Wanda reassuringly nods at you.

"But what about all the stuff in my apartment?"

"Happy will have it collected and brought here." Tony stated.

"Thank you so much, everyone." you announce to the whole room.

"I have a feeling I'm going to like it here."
