"Done." I let out a sigh of relief at having gotten the last bit of my potions worksheets done. Now to pass them off to Snape and I'm golden.

"About time." Riddle said from my bed. He had been laying there waiting for me to finish all morning.

"Yes now we can go." I said standing up from my desk. "We're all set to head out." It was time to do my shopping for the new school year. I grabbed the letter I received earlier this week and stuffed it into my pocket.

"Well come on." Tom already started down the stairs. I was still clumsily putting my shoes on when I reached the bottom of the stairs.

"All ready to pick up your new school things?" Hayden asked making his way towards me.

"Yep." I said with a cheerful nod.

"Alright I'll see you nerds around." My Dad said pulling Hayden and I into a tight embrace. "I'm gonna go drive your sister to the airport."

"Okay see you later bro." Hayden said "now get out of here before Honey texts me that you're as slow as molasses." Dad let out a laugh before kissing my forehead.

"Stay safe you magical girl." My father then turned and left.

"I can't promise." I whispered and with Tom around I really can't. He mostly behaves however he can be unpredictable. During the summer he befriended James which worries me. I have no idea what they talk about when I'm not with them, but I have my suspicions.

"Okay we need to be heading out we have shopping to do." My Uncle enjoys shopping, mainly for books but still. Tom and him had been trying their best to be patient with me all day.

The three of us had to shim shammy over to Joe's to borrow his fireplace. Which in typical fashion uncle Hayden talked to him for like a hour before even walking over to the fireplace. They then proceeded to talk by the fireplace for another forty five minutes. I know, I've started counting my uncle does this often. After a hour and forty five minutes of talking Tom and I just went without him. Tom had sneakily grabbed Hayden's wallet and with how long this was taking I didn't care. It was a minor crime to pure boredom with no books. No solution to pure boredom is evil.

Tom and I just chilled out by the fireplace we popped out of for the most part. While we waited for Hayden which took another fifteen minutes. I love having a watch some days. Tom and I were able to get a few things before Hayden came through upset that we left him behind. I admit that I felt a little guilty, but in my defense I wanted to get my shopping done.

My Uncle and I decided that we'd save buying my books for last. We both knew we'd be there far to long. We have money put aside for books for a reason. We rushed our way through the many stores filled with magic related things, then bolted to the bookstore.

There sitting on the floor by the front desk was James. He was absorbed in a book about 16th century witches and wizards. Standing at the desk was one of his older brothers. The brunette priest Johnathan.

"Heyo." Johnathan smiled cheerfully at us. James didn't even look up from his book or say anything. "James come on, say hi."

"Hi." James groaned his nose still stuffed in his book.

"I'm sorry about him he's been like this all day." John explained with a worried expression.

"I take it that he hasn't explained his mood." Hayden walked over to a nearby bookshelf and began to skim through a book. John simply shook his head. James isn't great when talking about negative emotions. Not sure why all other kinds of emotions come easy to him, maybe he needs practice.

"Hey Fuzzyloo what's so much more interesting then me?" Tom asked sitting beside James "oh she ugly." Tom pointed to something in James's book. James smiled before letting out a chuckle.

"Well we've gotten everything we need, so would you like some assistance getting Mints books?" John offered.

"Oh yes please." Uncle Hayden said with a grin. I was getting a strange vibe, so I let them look for my books in peace. I just sort of stood there awkwardly for a bit before heading into the bookshelf alleys.

It really does feel like you're walking through a dimly lit alleyway. The bookshelves leave only a small space for light to slip through. They stand like buildings with the missing places for books acting like windows letting you see though to other side. I could see a pair of students looking at books together. It made me realize how use to company I had become. It made me feel lonely standing their by myself among all these books. Which is strange after all books contain dozens of characters created for people who don't socialize often. I began skimming through the books to take my mind off of such a thought.

I found myself a small corner, in which I sat down with a book. It was a mystery romance novel. Romances tend to seem off to me, but I do enjoy a good mystery. The detective, Rose is tracking down known criminal Allister Sylvester who on many occasions sent them letters inviting them to dinner. Suspecting each to be a trap they refused all of them. The story feels more like a mystery romance comedy but hey I won't complain. Rose spends much of their time in the company of the lovely Barista Lorei who's brother was killed a bank robbery. Which she mentions a lot, which is, a thing I guess. They describe Lorei as lovely but I find her to be mighty suspicious, not gonna lie. Allister seems to just be a fun loving thief who is great at making a wacky escape. Rose seems like someone is has trust issues, possibly being a tragic backstory of some kind. The other people that Rose encounters all have more then one thing going on, much like real people which is a interesting choice.

When my legs began to ache with a staticey fuzzy feeling I figure it was time to go talk to everyone else about maybe leaving. Even thou I have yet to check each shelf. Which is fine me, nothing could go horribly wrong if we miss a few shelves. Right. After meeting back up with the others we checked out. We bought our books and finally exited the building. The sun was fading as the sky became rosy with streaks of violet. We all headed to our respective living spaces. Although Tom and I had to wait two hours for Uncle Hayden to get in the car.

Thankfully, Tom and I convinced him to get take out cause my stomach may, or may not have been rather audible for a hour. Did we get a bunch of chicken nuggets, yes. Did we get fries, yes. Did we get ice cream, yes I required a dessert for waiting. Did Tom rob me of some fries and a chicken nuggie, unfortunately yes. Did he also steal a large "sip" of my tea, again unfortunately yes. I still drank it even through my uncle commented on germs. Listen my drink my rules Tom germs are the least of worries. After having our dinners we headed home and headed to bed. However I was kinda wanting to stay up a bit longer to read my new book.
