What's that mean?

That morning Tom was impatiently waited for my Uncle to wake up. I had already packed my things into the car and had breakfast by the time Uncle Hayden had made it to his bedroom door to go get breakfast. Tom and I rushed Hayden as best we could. Running late on the first day is not how I want this year to start. However my dear uncle was being slow this morning.

I was excited because I had recently received a letter from Alex saying that with the Tri Wizard Tournament going on he would be at Hogwarts as well. Meaning we would each other in person for the first time, in a long time. Tom was excited to be back at Hogwarts in general I'm sure. I also had tons that I wanted to talk to the others about in person. I tried asking about things like attraction with everyone over letters some either never responded or like Aaron dodged the subject somehow, for me, I was having trouble understanding it. However no one was really of any help, even if they were willing to talk about it with me. I knew Olivia would be perfect for the subject, even if I kinda didn't want to ask her. Olivia is someone I ask for help from cautiously.

We just barely made it to the station in time. Gosh dang it Hayden! Ice coffee is less important than Hogwarts!

Went to the back of the train to were I found all of my friends. I slumped down beside Kyle and sunk into the seat cushion. No one said anything to me but instead went back to talking amongst themselves. It didn't take long before I fell asleep, the train rocking me to sleep. We were half way there when I woke up and I was leaning against Tom's chest. I don't remember him being there when I went to sleep, but he's here now. I was sitting sideways in his lap with my head against his chest. I just sat there questioning if I should just go back to sleep or not. It would avoid the possibly awkward conversation of why I was in Tom's lap.

"Wakey wakey Minty." Kyle said lightly poking my cheek. Darn socially forced into being awake.

"We got Tom to hold you while you slept cause you were falling out of the seat." Aaron explained which makes some sense I guess.

"If you're still tired I'd suggest getting changed into your robes before going back to sleep." James suggested with a smile "Sleepy Minty." I just stared into space thinking about my next possible actions when Tom blew air in my face.

I got up and exited the car. I slowly made my way around sneaky between other students and ducking around more students. I eventually was able to grab my robes and change. I stood by the door of the trains bathroom for a while trying to use my malfunctioning brain to think of what to do now. Eventually Olivia tapped me on the shoulder.

"Minty you're blocking the way, do you mind moving over a little bit." Olivia stated another student was hiding behind her clutching her robes. I nodded then scooched aside letting the shy student go change.

"So what's up?" Olivia asked I looked above me

"Looks like paneling but I don't know all that much about trains." I looked at Olivia "so I could be wrong."

"Not what I meant." Olivia groaned in utter annoyance. She didn't like my joke. What shame she doesn't appreciate my bad humor. Tom does for some reason. What's up describe what's above me, gets him all the time.

"If you mean what's going on with me I recently woke up from a nap." I explained.

"Okay....oh why were you trying to contact me during the summer, you never send me letters."

"I had a couple of questions to ask you about how attraction works."

"Which kind of attraction?"

"How many kinds are there?"

"Three that I know of, sexual, platonic and aesthetic." Olivia explained I was I think a little understandably confused. Based off of my knowledge of words I assume platonic attraction has to do with getting along, while aesthetic has to do with being attracted specifically how they look or dress. Sexual attraction has to do with sexuality I believe.

"Explain please." I requested wishing to understand these subjects.

"Okay I'll do my best, aesthetic attraction is more about, well a person's aesthetic it has nothing to do with wanting to have sex with someone or wanting to be romantically involved with someone, so it's more of you just look neat." Olivia explained to which I nodded. "Sexual attraction is more about the body, and if sex is on the table while platonic is more of a friendship thing, although I guess someone can want to only be romantically involved with someone."

"That helps a little." I said organizing this information in my brain.

"Why are you guys talking about attraction types?" Nathan wrapped his arms around my shoulders resting his head on mine.

"Cause Minty asked." Olivia smirked, which I find to be a bit strange. Like why smirk about my curiosity.

"Ah, well Minty another thing about attraction is that it can develop slowly over time, like with demi sexuals and demi romantics, they can gain sexual or romantic attraction after getting know someone, which is why they get put under the aro or ace umbrella." Nathan explained gently swaying me from side to side "anyways Minty sweetheart it's almost time to get off so yeah, turns out we're closer than I thought."

"And you need to get back to your man." Olivia said with a smile

"Yes yes I'll head back to my good boy." Nathan let go and gave me a pat on the head before heading back to his seat.

"I should probably go too." I said with a small wave before heading off back to my seat. Which Tom was still occupying. After a while the train came to a stop at Hogwarts station.
