Tom had a grumpy look on his face most of the day. I walked with Alex from class to class the whole day. Tom not far behind. Come the end of the school day I spent time with Alex walking around the grounds until Krum called him away for something. Tom was laying underneath a nearby tree with a irritated look and his arms crossed. Oh joy, he's starved for attention isn't he.
"You could've jumped into our conversations you know." I gently kicked his foot. He didn't respond instead he looked off in the direction Alex had disappeared to. "Not gonna talk to me today are you?" I asked kneeling down to look at him. I could see him bite the edge of his lip like he was thinking, of what I can't imagine, an answer would be nice.
We look at each neither of us saying a word. I was like a staring contest that children have cause they're bored. I eventually gave up and headed for the library. Billions of books are more interesting than a staring contest with Tom.
I snuck my way around the towering shelves with their creaky ladders. I made my way to the secret library and started doing some reading. Little bit of blood magic, some curses of the ancient world and Detective Rose.
Detective Rose is becoming quite interesting to me. Allister's explanations of his work tickle my brain just right. Rose's continued sense of justice being a blessing and a flaw at times. Something about it just keeps me interested.
However I have to note that Allister is genuinely interested in a relationship with Rose, but he also can't seem to give up his way of life. It creates a rift that stays wide open unwilling to close. However some of the cheeky and flirty comments Allister makes me want to see the rift close, or for the two of them to come to some sort of agreement.
Not sure what that says about me.
Tom went about reading a book nearby, sometimes he would poke his head out his book to look at me. Never lasted long, it was distracting though.
"If you have something to say, say it, don't be looking up at me randomly without saying anything." I said aggravated with his behavior. He threw a glare in my direction. It's like he's a toddler sulking after being told no from his parents. All grumpy and upset for not getting his way. However what was there for him to be upset about?
"There's nothing to say." Tom grumbled going back to his book.
"Okay grumbleton." I mumbled closing my book. I'm noticing that he's been weird a lot as of late. What could be the reason?
The new year has started. He could be upset with the lack of freedom to move around.
The school is crawling with new people he doesn't know. That probably isn't a problem for him though.
I have been spending a lot of time with Alex which has been taking away from our time together. Not sure why that would be bothersome to him, but maybe that's something that could affect his mood.
Anything else would be factors that I am unaware of. Maybe visiting Cella would improve his mood. He enjoys her company like I do. It would be nice to visit her. Do I wanna do that tonight or another day? Doing it in the daytime would most likely worry Alex a little. However if we visit her at night I might over sleep and miss breakfast.
Visiting the secret library might also aid his mood. What else can I do within reason to help his mood? I suppose I could just ask him. Hope for the best with that. Maybe I could just ask him to pick between Cella and the secret library. I feel like that might be more effective. Maybe he has a time when he'd rather disappear. Those questions should be asked in my room I'm sure.
"Come on Riddle let's go." I said getting up.
"Where are going?" He grumbled
"To place more private." I said brushing dirt off my robes.
"You know I can handle something like that very easily." Tom smirked holding a hand out to me. I took his hand he pulled me closer to me. That moment I saw that he transported us into the book.
I looked around at the familiar scenery. The emerald green random curtains and silver snake statues. The dark divergent hallways filled with doors hiding his mind. He had transported us right onto the deep emerald couch. I could see his diary laying on a end table at one end of the couch.
"Now is there a reason why you want us to be somewhere private?" He asked with a smirk.
"Yes as a matter of fact." I said "now can you let go of my hand so I can properly sit down please."
"You can sit down just fine." Tom said moving his hands to my hips and flipping me around sitting me in his lap.
"Well I want to know what's with your mood as of late, and if you'd prefer to visit Cella or the secret library." I explained turning my head to look at him. He turned me in his lap.
"There are things I'd prefer more but if I have to choose I'd say visit Cella." Tom said moving some of my hair out of my face.
"What would you prefer most?" I asked even though I knew the answer probably has to do with murder.
"Nothing you wanna hear about." He said with a evil grin. He pressed his forehead against mine. "And trust me when I say I will have it eventually." He said his grin widening.
"Alrighty then, so we're gonna visit the Cella beana then." I said ignoring how close his face is to mine. After if I ignore it he'll go away.
"Mint that's not how that works." He smiled
"Darn it!!!"
