The great hall was deck out with all kinds of food as per the usual. The floating candles lighting the room. Loud chatter from every direction. However such chatter never lasts. Dumbledore quieted down the many students before he began his speech on the Tri Wizard Tournament. Filch came jogging in for a moment to speak with Dumbledore. They spoke in hush tones before Dumbledore moved on and let our visitors in.

First up the Bobattin Academy of magic. A school filled in with only girls, of which I nearly went. They came in making swooning sounds and creating magic butterflies flutter about. Their was a bit of a dance routine. Their headmistress staying tall above everyone, even Hagrid.

Next Alex's school they came in making quiet the ruckus. They banged staffs on the stone floor sending sparks flying from the culsion. They half picked up pace and started a performance of their own. I found Alex among his classmates he shot me a quick smile and continued. They even had a fiery beast as part of their show.

Things they proceeded as they always do. As Barty was being introduced the ceiling grew dark and started storming. Thunder crackled above our heads and lighting began. From the corner of the room a new person quickly delt with the rainy sky. The man being Alastair Moody. Who as it turns out is our new defense against the dark arts teacher.

After we ate Alex came to find me.

"Minty!" Alex picked me up and twirled me around. He put me down but still held onto me. He giggled and smiled brightly. "I've missed you so much."

"It's been to long since we've seen each other." I smiled and started giggling right along with him. I couldn't help, Alex always makes me giggle. I see him and can't help but be giddy. It's always been this way, every since we were children. His red hair has gotten darker over the years but he's still a bright ginger. Alex has most of his shaved but he still had a ponytail. He hid it with his hat early but without the hat everyone could see it. Some would call what he has as a warrior's wolf tail.

"How have you been lately?" Alex asked brushing some hair out of my face.

"I've been great, and you?" I smiled

"I've been good, better now that I've seen you." He smiled just then I felt someone grab my shoulders.

"Mint I think we should head to the dorms." Said Tom from behind me.

"Ease up Tommy boy." Olivia said "you must be Alex."

"And you must be Olivia." Alex said holding his hand out to her. She tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear before shaking his hand.

"No he might have a point." Kyle said walking towards us with Nathan.

"Unfortunately, yeah." Nathan said pouting a little "I was hoping to meet a bunch of people."

"You two are Nathan and Kyle, Mint told me all about you guys." Alex said with a smile.

"Alex!" Loud thunderous voice called.

"Okay coming Vic, I've apparently gotta go." Alex gave me a hug "I'll see you around." With that he disappeared in the direction of Victor Krum.

"You two sure are chummy." Tom grumbled

"I've known him my whole life, that tends to be what happens." I explained the others all gave me sarcastic looks.

"Yeah well it's your bedtime so go to your room." Tom said pushing me towards the stairs.

"Fine buzz kill." I grumbled, we all walked to our respected dorms.

Back in my room found I had left Tom's diary in my suitcase and decided it can stay there. I grabbed my pajamas and was in the process of changing when I saw Tom chilling on my bed.

"Dude!"

"I'm not looking." Tom said his eyes shut, the audacity of this boy. I quickly finished changing then grabbed his diary before slamming in on the floor with a loud slap.

"That was far from needed." Tom said

"Get out of my bed so I can go to bed." I said picking up his diary and placing it on my desk.

"We can both fit."

"Get out of my bed."

"I don't wanna."

"Riddle move."

"Nah." He smirked, I took a deep breath before trying to drag him out of my bed. Key word try. I didn't succeed unsurprisingly. Tom only laughed at my failure which came as no surprise.

"Fine move over." I said in defeat. I curled up into a tight ball next to Tom. It took forever for me to fall asleep. I mind was swimming with thoughts of what the new year would bring, and the fun Alex and I could have. I was just to excited to sleep. It happens sometimes.
