"This was the day our heroes fell. All of them."

CASSIDY AWOKE WITH a gasp; her dreams being somewhat scary every night.

Suddenly, she heard her sister's alarm clock from the other room. The walls were thin, so there was nothing that one could do without the other knowing.

"Wake up, sleepyhead." The alarm clock sang. "Wake up, sleepyhead." It repeated, and Cassidy heard her sister turn it off.

And with that, Cassidy kicked her feet off of the bed, and got up to walk in front of her mirror.

She looked over at her clothing rack that she hand't put in her closet because.. well, there was no closet.

Wow, I'm putting real thought into what I wear!, Cassidy thought as she tilted her head, looking at herself in the mirror.

She listened to her sister talking to herself in the other room, she shook her head quietly with a tiny smile on her face. She then reached over to the clothing rack, and pulled out two shirts.

"This one says.." She looked down at the flannel. " 'I'm a weirdo', and this one says," She looked down at the bright pink shirt. " 'I'm better than everyone else'.." She took a look between the two, then put the flannel in front of her.

"I am a weirdo. Perfect!" She grinned at herself, then pulled it on over her gray sweater. She also pulled on overralls, too.

Her bracelet then beeped, and she held it up to her face.

"Time for breakfast, girls." Her father said into it, and she smiled. "Good morning, dad. Be right there." Missy said. "Yeah, be right there." Cassidy said, and raced off into the kitchen where she saw her father watching the TV while putting the eggs in the trash, and the shells in the bowl.

Her and Missy stood beside each other, giving their father an odd look. Missy had her eyes wide, and Cassidy had her eyebrows furrowed.

"Did you..?" Missy picked up the egg shells, examining them then looking up at their father. Cassidy rolled her eyes, and walked over to the table.

At the table, their father placed bowls in front of the girls and put cereal in them; of course, he had wasted the eggs.

"I see you're wearing 'Leave me alone'," He said while pouring cereal into Missy's bowl. "And you're wearing 'I'm a weirdo'." He said as he moved to Cassidy's bowl.

"Like always." Cassidy mumbled, swishing her cereal around with her spoon, then picking some up and placing it in her mouth.

"Ya know, I want you to make some friends." He told the girls, and Missy shook her head. "Yeah, not today." Missy replied, and Cassidy spoke up. "I've tried, they all think I'm weird. Which... I'm okay with." She shrugged, and he sent her a sympathetic look.

"It's because of your powers. You should be lucky you have some." Missy hissed, and Cassidy looked from her bowl, scrunching her nose at her sister while sticking her tongue out.

Missy made the same face back, then the two girls laughed at each other.

"Whoa, is that Miracle Guy?" Missy asked, looking at the TV then at Marcus who was looking down at his cereal.

"That," He said, turning off the TV. "Is just a training excercise, probably. A..." He folded his hands. "A 'what if'." He finishes.

Missy nods her head, as did Cassidy.
