THE LAST THING Abuelita said was "Let's boogie", where everyone either gave a smile or a smirk.
"Stand together!" Abueltia said, and Cassidy stood on the mat, watching as a figure appeared in front of her. She looked back at her Abuelita, and turned back, tilting her head down until she heard a "no" from Anita.
Cassidy turned around confused, and didn't even bother to look back at the figure that was running from behind her. Wild Card glanced at her, and was about to warn her, but she quickly put her fist up, knocking the figure out.
"Yes, abuelita?" She asked, but Anita took a step backwards. She was about to say that Cassidy had to use her strength instead of her powers, but she had that figured out.
She turned around to face the figure, and kicked it in the stomach, causing it to fall to the ground. She stepped over it, straddling it's back, and pulling it's neck up.
"Feel the rythm."
The figure disappeared, and Cassidy fell down on the mat.
She stood up, wiping her hands together, and skipping away like nothing happened.
At this point, Cassidy wasn't worried on the other children; instead, she was worried about herself becoming stronger. She sat a few feet away from Ojo, head in her palm with a sigh.
She saw Ojo drawing, and leaned over.
"Hey, Ojo?" She asked, and the girl simply looked up. "Can I... can I see that?" She asked, and the girl gave a quick alarmed look, then handed the iPad to Cassidy who widened her eyes at the picture.
It was of her and Wild Card kissing, and she blushed.
"Why did you... Why did you draw this?" She asked Ojo, but she knew she wasn't going to answer. "Seriously, Ojo, th-this.. Is, uh--" She was cut off by a sudden voice.
"Cass?" Wild Card said, and Cassidy handed the iPad to Ojo quickly. Ojo continued to draw, and Cassidy looked up at the boy who stood before her.
"Y-Yes?" She asked, then furrowed her eyebrows. "Did you just call me Cass?" She asked, and he sat next to her. "Yeah, get over it." He said, blushing.
She widened her eyes with a smile on her face.
"Since when were we on nickname basis?" She asked, and he shrugged. "Okay, so... what do I call you?" She asked, and he looked at her. "What?" He asked.
"What do I call you?" She repeated.
"Nothing?" He squinted his eyes. "No, I have to call you something.." She trailed off, then a light bulb appeared above her head. "How about Wild?" She said, and he shook his head with a 'no'. "Card?" She suggested.
"No, you're not calling me that." He said. "So then-- Missy! Be careful!" She called to her sister who was walking on the line.
She watched as her sister walked back, and she sighed.
Wild Card stared at her side profile, and when she looked back, he cleared his throat and looked away.
"So, why aren't you training with the rest of them?" He asked, and she sighed. "I'm nothing without my powers, and... I can't even use them without passing out." She rolled her eyes at herself.
"What do you mean you're nothing without your powers?" Wild Card furrowed his eyebrows. "Cass, you-- Cassidy, you are... I dunno, you're kind. I mean, as far as I can see, you want everyone to, uh, get along? I don't know how to say this, I'm so bad with words." He said, and she laughed at him, causing his to pick his head up, his eyes bright.
