Two:

[Seventeen years later]

It was a cold early November morning, winter rolled out pretty early this year. My sister Elizabeth and I were in a quarantine zone in Times Square. This institution offered shelter and support to the uninfected. The Curators were the military soldiers who kept watch and control of the place. This institution had solid exterior walls sealing everyone from the inside from any potential threats. Nobody was able to leave the perimeters unless they were told to. This QZ was more like a prison.

Most civilians were unarmed and unfocused, acting like the world around them hasn't changed, while the rest of us were dangerously armed killers sleeping with one eye open. There's a saying and it goes "In every wall, there's always a crack. That's your way out." Every so often Elizabeth and I sneak out of this place. Some of the fellow survivors reward us to do simple supply runs. It's a bit risky, but the reward itself is worth it. But not all rewards are given that easily.

I was sitting with a man named Tony Lucca. Back before the living became the dead. Mr. Lucca was an old consigliere, and two times acting boss of the Marinello family of Brooklyn. His jobs are a bit of blood. A clientele engraves a specific name on a single bullet and I'm the guy who ends the last rhyme with a hole into the target's head. I don't enjoy it, it's hallowed work I'd say. If you're low on cigarettes find Tony, low on meds find Tony, need rations to find Tony, want someone dead Tony finds me.

If word gets passed around my sister I don't think I'll ever forgive myself. I've lost so many people in this hellish journey of mine and I'm not going to abandon her. Sitting here with all these clouded thoughts made me feel exhausted and with a clouded mind I got up to stretch until I saw Jeffrey Green talking to Elizabeth.

Now how can I describe Elizabeth? Long beautiful haired brunette, glowing porcelain skin, eyes framed by long lashes that hid her hazelnut eyes.In high school, she was the picture of perfection all the guys would've climbed mountains for her. Shit, now you would have to think twice before breaking that woman's heart.

Elizabeth: Hey, looks like someone had a rough night.

Adam: Couldn't sleep.

Elizabeth: Everything alright?

Adam: I'm fine... Heading out?

Elizabeth: Yeah, I'm going on a run with Jeffrey.

Adam: Just the two of you? Want me to tag along?

Elizabeth: Oh, now you want to tag along with little sis, huh? I think I'm capable on my own. Besides, I think it'd be best if you stay here. Don't want the guards looking suspicious. Go home, Adam. Try to get some sleep.

Adam: Stay careful.

Elizabeth: Always am... Oh and Tony next time I catch Jack staring at my ass I don't care if he's your bodyguard I will fucking kill' em!

Tony: I'll pass the word.

Soon as Elizabeth left Tony handed me an 8mm round, engraved with the initials J.G. Here's the thing about this job. When given a target, refusal is no longer an option. Kill the target with no specific details given with no exceptions. I don't know much about Jeffery besides the rumors of him being a rapist. So having him in what you call a survivorship community ain't the brightest fucking idea.
