You: nick.. that's Bryce and my dad.
Nick: let's just go back to Taylers then.
You: no, let's go in. It's fine.
Nick: are you sure?
You: yea, just stay between us.. please.
Nick: ofc.

He opens the door and holds your hand as you walk inside together.

Nick: what do you want?
You: just vanilla.
Nick: really?
You: yea.
Nick: just vanilla?
You: yes nick.
Nick: wow ok.

You get your ice cream and walk to the table on the other side of the icecream shop.

Nick: here you go.
You: thanks Nick, but I'm paying next time.
Nick: next time?
You: yea.
Nick: we'll see about that.

You eat your icecream and talk until it gets late

Nick: we should go.
You: yea, why is my dad still here? Bryce left an hour ago.
Nick: idk but stay on the other side of me .
You: I will.
Dad: oh hey guys.
Nick: sorry, we have to go.
Dad: I'll see you at the house y/n.
You: actually I'm staying at a friends.
Dad: no you're not.
Nick: just F off man.
Dad: she's my daughter.
Nick: I don't care. You're not taking her home.
Dad: yes I am son, you can't stop me.
Nick: but a restraining order can and if you get close to her, I'll make sure she has one against you.

Nick takes your hand and you walk back to Taylers house together.

You: thanks for that.
Nick: it was nothing, I hate that he treats you like that.
You: it's ok Nick.
Nick: I better get home, madis been texting me nonstop.
You: is everything ok?
Nick: she just hates being home alone. I told her to call Ryland if anything happened but it just scares her.
You: I hate being alone too.
Nick: well, I'll see you tomorrow at school?
You: yeah.
Nick: ok, goodnight y/n.
You: goodnight nick.

Just as you thought he was about to kiss you, Taylers mom Wendy opens the front door.

Wendy: have fun on your date?
Nick: goodnight y/n, thanks for letting me take her out mrs. Holder.
Wendy: oh no problem sweetie.

You go inside as nick walks away from the house to be greeted by Tayler with a huge hug.

Tayler: where have you been?! I've been calling you!
You: sorry, I left my phone here.
Tayler: it's fine, I guess I should have texted Nick.
You: yea I guess.
Tayler: can I talk to you?
You: sure, what's up?
Tayler: uh let's go upstairs.
You: ok...

You go into his room and see flowers sitting on the bed.

You: what are these for?
Tayler: y/n, we've been friends forever it seems like and I can't imagine my life without you. I'm... in love with you. I thought it was best if I asked you this now.. will you be my girlfriend?
