The East temple was huge. It was long and elegant, in the shape of one beautiful leaf that shimmered in the sunlight. Kira stumbled inside, after tripping over the door lining. Zay snickered. Kira elbowed her. There were several guards posted near two large, golden doors. Zay went to the minny waiting room they actually had, on the far side of the room. She waved at Kira. Kira gingerly waved back. The guards looked her up and down as she approached.
"I'm Kiranous Green. The person they requested, and the one thousandth Gravity Breaker, whatever that is." Kira explained blankly. The guards nodded.
"When you go in there, bow. Don't speak until you spoken too." The guard opened the large door, and Kira stepped inside. Each master was perched on a throne, a few feet off the ground. Kira bent over into a bow, and stared at her reflection coming from the gold floor. There was a beat of silence. Kira shifted her weight uncomfortably. Finally, the East master spoke.
"Welcome. We have called you here today because you are the one thousandth Gravity Breaker. You have a destiny, one so great that many have only hoped. It would be their own." The East master boomed. Get to the point. Kira thought bitterly. The East master rose.
"A long time ago, our ancestors were at peace with the rest of the world. We lived in harmony. But one day, a predictor saw something awful." The East master paced, while Kira mentally groaned. Long boring story. Awesome.
"They saw that the two powerhouse counties of the world would go to war. They also saw that they would betray those with magic, and kill and imprison anyone with the gift. So they put their mental energy together, and created a new destiny. They created a soul that would be born hundreds of years later when the war started to get ugly. This being would be the one thousandth Gravity breaker." The East master explained. Kira felt confused. Her soul was created by some random people hundreds of years ago? Were these people high?
"The child would be a powerful weapon, and peace maker. They would restore the reputation of the natural abilities community, and end the war. They would create a fire in a dark cave. They would lead the world to light."
Kira's face twisted with confusion.
"Permission to speak?" She asked.
"Granted." The master from the South tree nodded. Kira smiled. And nodded.
"With all do respect, what on earth? How do you know this wasn't some crazy folktale? Once again, with all do respect, are you high? Like really high? Also, I'm barely a teenager! How the heck am I supposed to 'bring peace to the world' and 'end the war'? And finally, you can't be sure it's me. I'm probably the nine hundred and ninety ninth gravity breaker or something. This is incredibly stupid." Kira pointed out. The North master rose.
"That's where you are wrong. Rise." They demanded. Kira stood. What was happening? Bright light flashed from their eyes. Kira felt the same sense of power the day she had the day she became a gravity breaker. Kira blinked.
"What just happened?" She asked, her hands were glowing. The North master nodded.
"You just received your second ability. In the temple of the four trees. One of the locations." They said blankly. Kira blinked again.
"What!?" She screamed, purple energy sprouted around Kira. Kira controlled the electricity. She controlled the energy. Kira was a electis. Someone who controlled electricity. She was a force field maker. Kira starred in wonder at the purple dome around her. Kira flicked her finger. All of the energy around her disappeared. It still lingered in the air, but it was no longer hardened or visible.
"How is this possible? I'm a gravity breaker!" Kira yelped. The East master looked pleased.
"Yes. You are the one thousandth Gravity breaker. You hold an ability from each category. You hold all the gravity breaking abilities, but will not be able to unlock them until you complete your destiny. And until then, you are immortal." The East master explained. Kira's eyes widened. This was too much. This was too weird. Why her? Why did it have to be Kira? Kira felt like she was going to throw up.
