“About time you three did this.” Jeff, Daniel's dad, said with a smile.

Daniel rolls his eyes, “We have been really busy and didn’t have time to do it until now.”

I nod my head in agreement. “Yeah with Covid-19 around, we are put on hold so why not. At least one good thing can come out of this.”

“Well either way I am happy, and can’t wait to meet your matches, you better get going, if you want to make it to the Match Building in time.” Jeff says, a grin still on his face. He was so happy his son was finally taking the next step in his life.

Usually when you turned eighteen you would apply to the Match Program and be matched with a Felidae and Canidae, you then spend three months with them and then decide which one is your mate.

Daniel, Eben, and I didn’t do that though. We are famous singers and were constantly on the road. Our fans being the ones that told us we needed a break. We listened to them, but then our break got extended due to the virus.

Eben being the one to suggest us finding our mates with our lives on hold. I probably have made mine wait long enough as it was, so Daniel and I agreed.

We took the application and sent it in, fast forward to now and we are about to leave and meet the two that matched with us.

“Good luck.” Jeff wishes us with another proud smile, as we got into our cars and drove off.

We were going to go together in the same car, but thought against it, I mean we would have more than twice as many people. It just wasn’t logical.

I drive to the Match Building and park, walking inside, not waiting for Daniel or Eben. I had got there first. We were going to meet up at the end of the week, so our matches could meet each other.

“Mr.Besson, right on time, follow me.” A polite lady called out when she saw me walk through the doors. I smile at her and nod my head before following her like she said.

“Who would you like to meet first, the Canidae or Felidae match?”

“Hmm, the Canidae please.” I answer after a moment of thought.

The lady nods her head and then leads me to a door. “She is in this one, and then the Felidae match is in the blue door," she points down the hallway, "down there, take as long as you would like.”

When she finished explaining, she turned on her heel and walked back to the front, waiting for the next person to walk in.

I take a deep breath and turn the door knob, and walk in. My breath seems to catch when I see the brown haired beauty.

She has dark brown eyes that lit up as she sees me. Her lips a light pink and bottom lip pump. Her nose was long and slender and she had make-up on.

“Hi.” I greet.

“Hi.”

“What’s your name?”

“Christina, what about you?”

“Corbyn, so what type of Canidae are you?”

“I am a Fennec Fox, you?”

“Coyote, so tell me about yourself, just the basics for now, we have three months to really get to know each other.” I tell her with a wink.

Christina blushes a little and looks down with a lip bite. “I am 21 years old and graduated college with a business degree. I have a small youtube following and started as a make-up channel. My username being Beautychickee and as of right now I have been getting really into my Podcast and new merch called Bitchee.”

Christina tells me, a smile of pride on her face. I couldn’t help but smile back at her. She was so confident and seemed to know what she wanted.

“That’s awesome, I am a singing duo with my best friend Daniel and our opening act is our third bestie named Eben. I have toured a lot. Which was to be honest why I haven’t applied for this sooner, the virus stopped all the traveling though and so here we are.” I explained to her.

“That’s cool.” Christina said with a smile on her face.

“Anyway, I will be back. I am going to go meet my other match and then we can all go home.” I tell her with a smile.

“Sounds great.”

I nod and walked out of the room. That went well. She seemed like a great person, now for the next one.

Huh, I never did ask if it was a boy or girl, not that it matters. I didn’t care. I walked to the blue door and took another deep breath before opening it up.

My breath seems to leave me at the sight of the boy in front of me. He was gorgeous. Brown eyes as well but his had honey and gold specks in them. His lips a light pink color, the bottom lip plumper than the top one too.

He had pretty brown hair that looked soft to touch and feathery, little curls in it. His skin was a cream pale white and his arms were covered with many tattoos that just screamed meanings. He had his ears pierced and was on the short side, which was just adorable.

“Hey.” I breathe out, after my study of him.

“Hi.”

“So am Corbyn, a Canidae.” I let him know, not sure if he knew that he was the opposite kingdom of me.

The male smiles, showing off perfect pearly white straight teeth. “Jack, a Felidae.” He joked, like I didn’t know, making me smile and let out a chuckle.

“What type of Felidae?” I ask, curious.

Christina was a type of fox. I think one with big ears, which was just adorable.

“Black panther, what type of Canidae are you?” Jack asked me back. Ooh a black panther, that’s cool.

“Coyote.” I say with a smile, “So want to tell me a little bit about yourself before we go back to my house.”

“What? No dinner first?” Jack asked with a grin, a sparkle in his pretty brown eyes.

A laugh escaped me, I liked Jack. “Hmm, maybe I will think about it.”

“I’m 21 and can play a few instruments as well as cook and bake. I used to travel around the world and watch masters of their foods, finding the best styles and learning to cook and bake from the best...you know until the virus.” Jack explained.

“What instruments do you play?” I asked, interested.

“Piano, guitar, and a little bit of the drums.”

“That’s cool. I can play the guitar and drums as well. So Mr. Chef, think you could make dinner.” I tease.

Jack shrugs his slender shoulders with an easy smile, “Yeah, what would you like?”

“Am not picky, I had to travel the world too, My best friend and I are a singing duo and it seems that when ever we are somewhere new and have interviews, they make us try their foods. Not complaining though, it’s one of my favorite things, to be within their culture.”

“Yeah.” Jack agrees softly and I knew we were on the same page. Both of us thinking back to our travels and missing it.

“When this virus loosens up I promise we will travel all the time.” I tell him.

Jack chuckles, “You have to pick me first.”

It is then I am reminded of Christina. “Right, we should probably get going, I will introduce you to Christina and then we can be on our way.” I tell him, Jack nodding his head.
