Chapter Twenty-three

Zach

"Hey Zach." Daniel says, standing in my doorway, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh hi." I say, looking up from my phone.

"I just wanted to come say I am sorry for avoiding you these last couple of days. I just needed time to myself." He explains.

"Didn't stop you from hanging out with Franny." I grumble out, looking over towards the wall.

Daniel sighs and sticks his hands deep into his pocket. "Yeah, am sorry about that too. I just wanted to get to know her more...you know in case...." Daniel trails off, bitting his lower lip. Fuck! I wish I was the one bitting it.

"I keep destroying your house, forcing you to chose Franny over me." I finish Daniel's thoughts, frowning and looking down.

It hurt thinking that he would choose Franny over me. But what else was he suppose to do? He thought I was the one ruining rooms in his house, why wouldn't he get to know Franny, his future mate, more. Urg! I hated the thought of that.

"Yeah....I really am sorry, I like you so much and it hurt but I don't want you to be uncomfortable here-"

"Am not!" I shout as I jump off my bed.

"You must be, either knowingly or unknowingly."

"I don't understand why I am going this! We ran in the forest together in our seconds forms and my fox loves you!"

Daniel steps back, eyes wide. "You love me?"

I freeze and look down again, my cheeks growing warm. "I-um-well that's not the point! I'm just saying that I don't feel uncomfortable around you. My fox doesn't hate you or I would of attacked or ran away when we were together in the forest."

"Yeah...that's true, but why are you wreaking rooms?"

"I don't know! I don't think it is me." I tell him, arms crossed and thinking about Franny.

"Then who would it be?" Daniel asked.

"Hell if I know."

Daniel sighs again. "I just don't know what to do....right now let's just focus on tonight. Everyone is coming here for a barbecue. Jack marinated some steaks and made some brownies for dessert!"

I can't help the way my belly growled. "Sounds good."

"Yeah, and I thought tomorrow we could go on a date."

"You still want to see me?" I asked, surprised.

"Well yeah." Daniel said like it was obvious.

"But you will mate Franny."

"Not yet! I really like you Zach and....well I want you to be my mate. Let's finish the rest of these three months off and see where they lead. If you continue to ruin rooms in my house...I can't be with you. I can't force you into a relationship where you don't trust or want to be with me." Daniel tells me.

My insides warm and my heart pounds a million miles a mintue. "You choose me?"

Daniel walked closer to me, hands encasing my waist, causing me to heat up even more, my fox release a purr-like sound.

"Yes, if you would have me." Daniel says, a big grin on his face.

"I would love to, I promise there isn't going to be anymore room destruction." I promise him, a sparkle in my eyes.

I was over the moon. Daniel chose me! Me! I was going to be Daniel's mate. I would be able to spend the rest of my life with Daniel. I will get to go on as many hikes as I want with him, run through forests in our seconds forms together. It was going to be amazing.

I couldn't wait for the years we would spend together. Sure there will be ups and downs but I know we will be able to work them out. We were going to be mates! I just couldn't believe it.

Well we would be mates as long as I didn't blow it. I just had to not destroy anything for the next two months and then Daniel and I will be together forever, it signified by our claiming bites that will adore our necks.

"I trust you Zach, but to be sure....can I test it?" Daniel asked, looking nervous and bitting his lower lip again.

I grin. "Yes!" I answer...maybe too excitedly, but I wanted to feel how powerful my future alpha was. Wanted to feel his scent surround me and incase me in his protective arms.

Daniel's blue eyes widen once again before he chuckles lightly. "Okay," he says, before his eyes darken and the air around him changes. It making it impossible to ignore him and demanding his attention and only his.

"You promise not to destory any more rooms Zach?" Daniel asks, voice firm and leaving no room for arguement.

"I promise." I answer him softly. Knowing that it would be impossible to lie to him. If it really was me ruining these rooms, I wouldn't of been able to promise that.

"Good, let's get ready for tonight then." Daniel said, gaining control of his alpha back, a bright smile on his face, his face coming closer and placing a soft kiss against my cheek, making me gasp.
