-Patton's POV-
I ran out of the council hall in a panic. I heard my friends call after me, but I didn't stop. I couldn't...
What even happened back there? I've never been able to do that! What if someone was hurt? What if- "Patton, wait!"
I stopped and whipped around. I saw Logan bolt towards me. He flung his arms around me. "I know that was most likely scary, but please don't run away. We can figure this out together. I can help you." His was unusually desperate. I returned the hug, wrapping my arms around his torso.
I looked into his eyes. My eyes filled with tears. "But what if I hurt someone?"
Logan put a comforting hand on my cheek and wiped a few tears off my face. "You won't-"
"PATTON! GETAWAY..." I didn't stick around for my mother to finish her statement. I broke away from Logan and sprinted off into the forest. I ignored Logan's pleas for me to come back.
Tears streamed down my face. Everything was a blur. All I could hear was my heartbeat and my blood rushing through my ears. I stumbled and fell to the ground. I didn't attempt to get up. I just curled up in a ball and cried. The grass around me was slowly covered in a thin layer of frost.
I heard a twig snap. I look up and my eyes widened. Two purple eyes were staring at me. It looked huge. "Hello?" I say shakily. A high pitch ominous tune came from the void from which the purple eyes stared from. Then the eyes started moving.
The eyes got closer, but...smaller. I look at it with confusion. I backed up into a tree. The eyes leaped toward me. I flinched and crossed my arms across my face, but all I felt was something on my lap. Meow.
I slowly remove my arms from shielding my face. On my lap sat a snow-white cat with black stripes and big purple eyes. Meow. The cat yawned. Its tongue was teal-ish blue. It rubbed its face against my cheek. Meow. Strangely, I wasn't sneezing or my eyes weren't watering or anything. Around its neck was a sky blue collar with a white translucent diamond.
The diamond glowed and the cat started talking. "Hello, Prince Patton," Its voice was like a tingling of a bell. "My name is Gwendolyn or Gwen for short. I am the guardian of your mother's ice palace."
"My mother doesn't have an ice palace," I said timidly.
Gwen shook their head. "Let me show you the truth."
I gasp as snow begins to swirl around us. The snow blinded me so I shut my eyes tight and waited for it to stop. Soon I could no longer feel the sharp wind or the cold snow. I open my eyes to see that I'm in a castle much different from my mother's.
"Don't worry, no one can see or hear you," Gwen said sitting on my shoulder.
In front of me, laid a woman with blonde hair tied into a braid. In her arms, she held a crying baby. Beside her was, what I could assume to be her husband. He had light brown hair and tons of freckles. "What's are we going to name him?" He asked softly.
She thought for a moment. "Patton. Prince Patton of Arendale."
The man smiled. "That's a wonderful name." That's...That's my name... "Welcome to the world little Patton."
"But, how....how could I not have known?!" I said shocked.
Gwendolyn sighed. "You mother, Elsa, was happy with your father. That was until he died of sickness. You were only five months old. There was no way you could have remembered him dying. You had your father smile, laugh, and freckles and it reminded your mother so much of your father that she gave you away. But that wasn't the main reason she gave you away. She didn't want her grief to interfere with your childhood, so when she heard Queen Snow White and King Florian were looking to adopt a child, she gave you to them."
Snow swirled around us, but only for a moment. Now I saw my real mother place me in my adopted mother's arms. "Please take good care of him for me?" Her voice nearly gave out at the end. She looked like she was about to cry.
"We will, Queen Elsa." Snow White said nodding her head like a curtsey. With that, my real mother disappeared in a flurry of snow.
Snow swirled around Gwen and me one last time and we were in the forest once again. I sat there and processed what I had just seen. Elsa is my real mother. I look at my hands. That must mean I have her powers! One thing still bothered me. "Why didn't she come to visit me?"
"She couldn't between grief and being a queen, she didn't have time," Gwen said sadly.
"How am I going to control these new powers?" I think out loud.
"Well, the Hades kid offered to help and he seems to take a liking to you." Gwen teased.
We heard the sounds of twigs snapping and commands being given. Oh no! My mo- Snow White sent her guards to look for me. No doubt they already sent- no, I can't think about that right now.
"They just ran past us! Do you remember which way you came?" Gwen said quickly.
"I think just ran straight into the forest so if I just go straight the way I came," I said jumping to my feet. Gwen hopped into the trees and off we went sprinting as hard as we could to get back, so I could at least say goodbye.
I burst out of the forest and saw that Virgil, Janus, Remy, and Logan were about to get into the limo. Roman and Remus were restained by guards and Emile looked heartbroken. "Wait!" I yell, still running toward them. When I was close enough I flung my arms around Logan. "Please don't go. I want you to stay. I...need you to stay. There's still something I haven't told you." My eyes welled up with tears. I just let that fall.
Logan wiped away my tears with his thumbs. "Don't cry Patton, please. You're going to make me cry. And what is it you haven't told me."
I look into his teary eyes. "That I love you," I said simply.
Among the tears in his eyes, I could see happiness. "But what about your mom?"
"Who cares what she thinks! She not even my real mother." I said wrapping my arms around his neck. Logan's arms went around my waist. Our faces were just as close as they were before. We were just about to kiss when someone just had to interrupt us.
"PATTON SCOTT WHITE, GET AWAY FROM THAT ISLE KID THIS INSTANT!" Snow white screamed. She looked furious.
