NORA:You know that feeling, like someone is watching you? Yeah well that's me right now. It's currently 4:38 in the morning and I just woke up all of a sudden.
I think I'm just thirsty or something but I have an odd feeling like I'm being watched. It's been happening a lot, like everywhere I go I feel like this. Maybe I'm just paranoid, too many horror movies I guess.
I sit up in my bed and stretch slightly, my muscles are so tense, I sleep like a octopus so I guess it makes sense.
I place my feet on the cold hard wood flooring and make my way to the door. My room isn't huge but it isn't small either. I have a queen size bed and a decent size closet, it isn't a walk in but it's still a good size, and I have two large windows in my room that allow me to see the woods very clearly. I can't see the lake a few ways away because my room is on the bottom floor but my mother could from her room. It's best to watch everything from up there or in my little sisters room.
As I make my way into the hallway the feeling is slightly gone, but now I feel like some strange creature is going to pop out of the shadows and take me to some weird realm.
"....definitely too many scary movies." I say to myself.
I reach for my phone to use the flash light but I realize that I left it in my room on charge..dang it! It's too late to turn back now.
I round the corner to my kitchen and sigh in relief, light!
My mom always keeps one light on in the kitchen, so now I can actually see where I'm going.
I make my way to the fridge and pull out a water bottle. I open it immediately and gulp more than half down but stop when I need air. Damn I'm thirsty.
The feeling...it's there again. I'm literally going insane, it's the middle of the night, the only scary person watching me is myself in the window.
I sign and head back to my room, half running because of the shadows. I know..I'm 18 and I'm afraid of shadows...it's normal.
Well it's not really the shadows, it's more about what's in them that I can't see.
"No more scary movies for a week...I want sleep" I say to myself as I climb back into bed. I set the water bottle onto my side table and pull the blankets over me. I snuggle into them as I feel the warmth cover me.
"God I love you bed. So much!" I mumble into the comforter.
I roll to my side and face the window, before slowly closing me eyes. Before they shut all the way I see movement outside it.
Animals should have bed times so they don't distract me, it's too tempting to go to the window and see them. The thought of leaving my bed sends my thoughts back from getting up.
There was more movement and then I saw light. What looked like eyes...looking at me.
"Okay Nora..let's stop being stupid. No animal is going to look at you. Jesus" I say to myself and try to close my eyes once again. Something about the glowing green eyes makes me unable to look away though. They just seem to draw me in.
The longer I look the closer they seem to get. It's almost unsettling.
"I'm definitely going crazy! I'm officially crazy! Oh greeaaatt!" I say to myself as I think about how stupid I sound.
