An Alpha What Now?

Chapter Nine

Greyson:

I walk off of her porch and begin running to the woods, once in the cover of the trees I turn and look back. Her door is closed and I dont see her.

Damn, what happened? I don't get it. I think to myself. It just doesn't make sense. She was fine one minute, and then pissed the next. Girls are so confusing.

I don't have much time to dwell on it though, Nathan needs me back at the pack.

I take off the pants, because I don't want to rip them, shift into my wolf, grab the pants in my mouth and run back.

When I make it back, I change into the pants and run to the house.

Nathan, where are you?

Office, Alpha.

With that I head up the stairs, taking them two at a time.

I reach the second floor and head to my office, where Nathan is sitting in one of the chairs across from my desk.

"Whats going on?" I ask him as I round my desk and sit in the seat.

"Patrol found something I thought you should see." Is all he says when he hands me a paper.

I unfold the paper and flip it right side up. Its a note.

Wow Alpha, congratulations on the position, it really is something isnt it? How does it feel to be the man with all the power? Dont get used to it, this wont last for long. You took something that doesnt belong to you, something that isnt yours. Now Im taking it back. Be prepared, you won't be sitting in that comfy chair for long.

"Who did you say found this?" I ask him, mad but mostly confused.

"Anthony and Sam, when they were patrolling the West border. It was nailed to a tree with a rogue scent nearby, that's why they went to look at it." Nathan responds, looking at me confused and like he wants to say something.

"Spit it out Nathan." I say as I reread the letter.

"Two things, well maybe three. First, what did you take? Second, is this a threat? And Third, who is ABC? Is this some kind of joke?" Nathan asks, sounding like he doesn't know if he should be worried or laugh.

"I didnt take anything from anyone, I don't know what ABC stands for, and this sounds like a threat to me. I don't think someone would threaten me as a joke, so no I don't think it is." I reply back after a moment, and reread the note for what feels like the hundredth time.

I just don't get it, why is someone mad at me, and what the hell do they think I took??

"What do you want to do, Alpha?" Nathan asks while looking at me.

"Send some trackers and see if they can pick up a trail where the letter was left. I know it's late, but we need to get on it before the trail gets too old. Other than that there's not much we can do. For now at least." With that I stand up and walk to the door.

"I'm heading to bed, if anything new happens, or they find something, come and let me know." Nathan nods his head and walks out with me and closes the door.
