Jealousy and dreams

I turned slowly to see Zen's peircing red eyes staring into my own. I put on a shaky smile. " H-hey there Zen...T-this is my friend Sasuke..."  

Zen looked over at Sasuke with a glare. Then he looked back at me. "What are you two doing up here?"  he said with a icy chill in his voice. Was that...jealousy i heard in there too?

I shook my head, frantic. "N-nothing! He just offered me some of his l-lunch since i didnt have any! We sit next to each other in class so..." 

"Really?" Me and Sasuke were both blushing at what he was assuming.

"Yes! S-since i dont k-know anyone yet and he was t-the only person i knew at the time so i just..." I started trailing off. I knew that whenever Zen was over-protective (or jealous) there was nothing i could say to help the situation.

Zen then grabbed me and placed me over his shoulder. "We're leaving. Now." He started to walk away when Sasuke called out to him.

"Wait! We have a test today deciding if we are to be Genin so you can't just-"

Zen spoke over his shoulder. "I can. I just passed as a Jounin and i know for a fact thats she's stronger than me. The Hokage can test her another time separately. Unless you want to spar against me? If you win i'll let her stay longer." he said, smirking. My eyes widened. Sasuke would get killed! 

I shook my head and mouthed 'no' to Sasuke. Sasuke saw this and though for a moment. Glaring at the floor, he replied, " No." I sighed with relief. 

"But, I'll be happy to some other time." I facepalmed. Men are so prideful. Zen walked away again, after doing one of those 'im watching you' gestures. I silently sighed.

I waved half-heartedly back to Sasuke. "Later Sasuke. "

He simply Hn'd in response. 

After we got out of Sasuke's hearing distance, I started pounding on Zen's back with my fists. "Why would you do that?! We were just hanging out! Now its all awkward! Ughhh..." I gave up and laid my head on his shoulder.

"You're a jerk."

He chuckled. " Well if you'd stop trying to cheat on me with other men i wouldnt have to kidnap you all the time."

I was blushing " I was not trying to cheat on you! And we are not dating!! It would be weird..." The last part was muffled since i spoke into his shirt. He looked over at me confused.

"How would it be weird? We're not related or anything."

I grumbled into his shoulder. I always knew he liked me. I mean he flirts all the time! But i still think it would be weird. He's like my brother! I decided to change the subject. "So where are we going?"

"To our house. The Hokage just gave us one. He also gave us some money for new clothes and stuff! He's so  freakin' awesome!" I giggled. 

"Alright. Wake me up when we get home..." 

~Zen's POV 

I felt her breathing even out after a few minutes. I couldn't help but smile. She never slept unless she felt safe. It was nice to know she felt safe with me.

I walked home slowly. She needed her sleep. She never slept at that hell we lived at. She only started sleeping after we had escaped. Her body was so frail too. she barely weighed anything at all. I was afraid that if i dropped her she would break into a million pieces. But i couldnt hold her tight or she would bruise...

We reached the house in about 10 minutes. It was a decent-sized house with normal furniture. I opened th door and walked inside. I placed her gently on the couch. Then i realized there was blood on my shirt. Crap.
