Life goes on...?

~Silvers POV

I woke up coughing and sputtering, unable to open my eyes. I sat up weakly and held my throat. It burned from the deprivation of oxygen.

I heard footsteps approach me, and I could only hope they were friendly.

The person held the sides of my head and spoke, "Silver? You're awake? How are you feeling-" I groaned quietly and opened my eye to see the piercing red ones of Zen.

I shook my head slightly, "Thank Jashin you are so overprotective...." I smiled.

He laughed lightly, "Yeah...as soon as I got your letter I ran after you..." I saw with my one eye that his cheeks looked dry. He had been crying...

I sighed and pulled him into a hug, "Thank you..."

He hugged back, ever so lightly, as if he thought he would break me. "I told you before...I'll always protect you."

I stayed quiet. I didn't know how to respond to that.

"Zen...I can't fight anymore...not with my kekkai genkai..." I started, "Not with my eye like this..."

He hugged tighter. "I know..."

Tears welled up in my eyes,

"I'm sorry."

And I blacked out

~Kakashis POV

Naruto's nine-tailed fox rampage was over, seeing as I was able to use a chakra seal on him. Though I wasn't able to fully understand what had happened until it was too late.

I walked up to my group, immediately noticing that one was missing, "Where's Silver?"

Sakura looked down towards the unconscious Sasuke and shook her head. "...she used the last if her strength to protect us...then she was thrown over the bridge..." She sniffled and rested her head on Sasukes.

Naruto was crying tremendously, as was Tazuna. Everyone else stood silent, mourning the loss.

I shook my head, 'I lost another one...'

Later that day, the village held a small funeral service for Silver, Haku, and Zabuza. Then we headed out to Konoha in silence. All of them walked in shocked silence. Some angered.

We eventually got to the village, immediately heading to the hospital to patch everyone up. Mostly Sasuke and Naruto.

We saw Silvers...friend, Zen, in the waiting room.

"Zen...what are you doing here?" I asked in unwilling monotone.

He looked up and smiled happily, "You guys made It back?! That's awesome! Silvers been worried sick about you guys!"

Sasuke and Naruto growled, "Don't joke around with us...Silver...died over in the land of waves..."

Zen shook his head. "No she didn't, I found her and brought her back."

Sakura whispered to everyone else, "Maybe that's why he's at the hospital...he might be delusional..."

Zen rolled his eyes and grabbed Narutos wrist, "If you're the one she gave up her eyesight for, you at least have to go see her!" The others tagged along.

Zen slammed open the door and smiled brightly, "Honey I'm home~!!"

Silver lay on the hospital bed, half her face covered in bandages. "Good to know DEAR." She replied with a sigh.

The group stood in shock.

Then one by one they went up to her.

Naruto poked her first, seeing that she wasn't a ghost, then he hugged her and wouldn't let go. Literally. He held on until closing hours. Silver smiled the entire time.
