Harry quickly glanced over at Malfoy who had stopped walking and was staring out over the lake. Even with Malfoy as company Harry had to admit that it was beautiful. The Sun had just started setting and was turning the sky into a gorgeous array of subtle oranges and pinks, highlighted by the mountains in the distance. Throughout the horror of being hunted down by Voldemort and his Death Eaters, Harry had never quite been able to appreciate how stunning this place was. He let out a small sigh of contentment. He was about to open his mouth and ask Malfoy some of his burning questions, only to realize he had already started once again walking to the castle. Harry let out a small huff of annoyance before scrambling to catch up with him.

Draco grimaced to himself as he heard Potter run to catch up with him. He had hoped he wouldn't have noticed he had left until he was too far away for Potter to catch up with him. Evidently his hopes were in vain.

Draco looked over at Potter who had his lips pressed together as was squinting at the castle, as if he was stopping himself from spewing his last meal all over the path. Draco stopped and gasped exasperatedly, throwing his hands up in the air. "What is it Potter, you look like your trying to hold a live mouse between your butt cheeks. What do you want?!" Potter gave a small huff of surprise and amusement then blurted "What happened with Greengrass?" and then staring at the ground as if he wanted it to open up and bury him right there. "After all that, that was what you ask me?!" Draco couldn't help but sigh in annoyance. But after reminding himself that this was the man that saved his life, he forced his tone to be softer. "It just didn't work out." Potter glanced up and managed a small "oh". They began to walk again in silence before Potter abruptly said "Why?" Draco was silent for a few seconds before stating "I don't think she liked the fact I was more into her Dad than I was her."  Potter choked on the air and sputtered "Your...gay?!" Draco stared at Potter emotionlessly "Surprised?" Potter was evidently still trying to process this information. "Yeah...I guess. Well at least now all that hair gel makes sense." Potter flashed Draco a toothy grin that Draco almost returned before he remembered just who he was talking to. Instead he gave a softer version of his tell tail smirk. "Some days I put so much in that when it dried, my hair would literally snap in half." He said with a chuckle. Harry grimaced "Yeah. Thank God you don't use that stuff anymore. You look so much better without it."

There was and awkward silence. After realizing what he said Harry quickly shut his mouth to stop him from embarrassing himself further. "So erm...what position did Minerva offer you?" Malfoy stared ahead blankly and stated "It wasn't so much of an offer. More like a demand." Harry laughed heartily. "Did she randomly appear in your house as well?"

*flashback
"To what do I owe this pleasure"
McGonagall completely ignored Draco's question and began to wonder around the room. "I see you have been keeping yourself in a better state than Potter." Draco grimaced "Well more could you expect from that half wit." McGonagall turned to glare at Draco "That half wit happened to save your life, not once, not twice but three times in the span of a month. Once from that fire, other time in killing Voldemort and once again in court. So you can shut that smart mouth of yours." and Draco did shut up. McGonagall's tone softened "But I haven't come here to give you a lecture." It took all of Draco's will power say something snarky. "I have come here to offer you a job. A position at Hogwarts as potions master." It felt like the silence stretched on for year "Close your mouth Malfoy, you look like your trying to catch a fly." Draco quickly shut his mouth, but he could help but utter "Why me?" "Because you were the obvious choice." McGonagall replied "Your good with children even though
you would never admit it. You loved helping the young Slytherins." Draco was about to argue with her but she cut him off quickly "You excelled in potions throughout your years at Hogwarts, and seem to have a genuine interest and enjoyment for the subject. Therefore you were a perfect candidate for the position." Draco stayed quiet for some time. Carefully considering what he was about to say. "I really truly appreciate this offer but...I would need some time to consider it." McGonagall nodded. "You have two weeks to decide. All the information you would need is in this letter." And with that McGonagall dissapperated.

*end of flashback
"Malfoy?...Malfoy? MALFOY?!" Draco immediately snapped out of his trance "Malfoy are you ok?" Seeing genuine concern on Potter's face made Draco feel uncomfortable and slightly disgusted with both Potter and himself. He couldn't believe he had just been having a normal...ish conversation with Potter...Potter of all people. "Yeah I'm fine." He replied. Just as he said that they reached the door's of the Hogwarts Castle. "I think we should forget everything we talked about it this conversation. In fact we should both forget we even conversed...it's better if we just try and avoid each other."

Harry's heart gave a painful throb and he had no idea why. However he would never let that show on his face. He kept his lips pressed together and gave a curt nod before following Malfoy into the Castle.
