I laid my head against his shoulder as the game resumed but something made me stand quickly and Koga looked at me before following my line of sight.

“Please, Kurokomacchi, Kagamimacchi” I whispered. “Please win”.

Koga and I looked at each other; our faces mirroring each other.

“Not now, please not now” I shook my head pacing despite Riko shouting in my ear. “Jesus Christ”.

I looked at the ceiling with my arms wrapping around my sides “Why him? Why now?”

“Kazuya…” I heard a voice. “Can you see?”

I looked to see Kise in front of me with a worried look on his face, Aomine was following and I blinked back tears. I ran into Kise’s arms and cried.

“Why now?” I whimpered. “After all this time why now?”

“Some of us get pushed” Aomine sighed coming up behind me. “Look at you and me and Kagami”.

I looked at him and buried my head in his chest as they wrapped their arms around me.

“Kazuya…” Koga waved me over. “We need your help”.

“Thanks” I smiled before leaving.

“What’s the matter?” I asked.

“Look and please tell me your hindsight kicks in” Riko snapped.

My eyes scanned the court and it did; Kagami and Atsushi were in the zone. It was bad enough when Kagami and I were in it as well as Aomine but this was worse.

“Kurokomacchi needs to either make a shot or screen someone” I bit my lip. “Kagamimacchi needs to stop worrying about Atsushimacchi and focus on Himuro or Kiyoshimacchi needs to help him out”.

 “How’s your leg?” Riko asked.

“I can do the last ten minutes, why?” I shrugged. “Youse need my play?”

“Kagami can’t handle Himuro because he can’t get past you” Riko nodded. “Kuroko and him are the only ones who can faze Atsushi”.

“Seirin Time out!”

“Mitobe; you’re swapping with Kazuya” Riko sighed. “Kagami, Kuroko; your job is to keep Atsushi busy while Kazuya can deal with Himuro”.

“I thought you said…” Kagami protested.

“He is your brother but he slips past you like I do” I shook my head. “Atsushimacchi doesn’t know how to deal with you two but you don’t know how to deal with Himuro; you fight slipperiness with slipperiness”.

“Kazuya, look me in the eye and tell me you can handle this” Kiyoshi ordered.

I turned and looked him dead in the eye with a smirk on my face “Bet your sweet ass I can”.

This time I put on my calf and wrist bands and stretched out my wrists. I eyed Atsushi and Himuro and he smiled “I admire your courage but this will end with you losing”.

“Courage has nothing to do with it” I smirked. “I just hate losing to someone like you more”.

He took a step back at my words as his eyes went wide and the rest of the team stood behind me.

“We have no intention of losing” I explained raising my hand and clenching my fist. “You can hit us with everything you’ve got but you won’t break us”.

“Kazuya, Izuki wants time on the inside” Kiyoshi explained. “You’re gonna have to play Point”.

“Point isn’t the best for me at the moment because I’ll make my plays and youse don’t know them” I replied bouncing the ball.
