Can we talk...?

Phillipa's pov
I am so happy, today Steve promised a date and I can't wait to see what it is. He told me to be casual cause we had to relax.

I decided on some low waisted jeans and a red top, it was simple but I think I looked good. I slipped on some sneakers and waited for him to come pick me up.

"Hey, Pippa, what you doing all dressed up?" Emmy asked as she walked through the door. "Well... Steve is taking me on a date today! And I cannot wait!" I couldn't hold my excitement in.

She looked at me with a smile but there was something else in her look, she looked like she felt bad for me... Why? (A/n: if you don't get it, I wrote that cause I wanted Emmy to sympathize with Lin while Pippa thought it was directed to her)

"Emmy... Why are you looking at me like that?" she looked like I caught her off guard. "I- what do you mean?" I looked at her suspiciously but decided to ignore it. "Uhm, nothing."

There was a knock at the door so I went to open it, "Hi baby!" I greeted him, it was Steven. I cant wait to see what he has planned for me.

"Hey Pippa, you ready?" He asked with a small smile, I nodded. I said bye to Emmy before leaving with Steven.

"So where are we going?" He chuckled and shook his head, "It's a surprise, I cant tell you. But what I can tell you is that you're gonna love it!" I smiled, although I'm slightly disappointed that he won't tell me.

Once we were in the car he blindfolded me and told me the ride was about 20 minutes, I was way too excited to care about the time. The car ride was peaceful and filled with some old classics, not something I would personally listen to but I didn't mind it.

~~~~20 minutes later~~~~

"Ok... you ready?" He asked, I had felt the car engine stop, which obviously meant we reached. "Yea!" I couldn't help but grin when he took my blindfold off.

He brought me to a drive-in movie, he made the car more comfortable and he got out my favorite snacks. "Aww, this is perfect... which movie are we watching?" At that he grinned, "It's a movie you've wanted to watch for a while..." actually I ended up watching the movie with Lin cause Steven was putting it off a lot, but I wasn't gonna tell him that. He did this amazing thing for me!

"I love you so much..." I kissed him, I felt him kiss back with a smile...

Lin's pov

I wanted to hang out with Pippa for a while, knowing Daveed and Emmy are gonna need the entire apartment for their... activities. But Emmy said she went out somewhere, it looked like she was hiding something. She was probably with Steven anyway, I might as well go to the orphanage to check on Sophia and Jonah.

Aurel recently got adopted by a couple upstate, Sophia was devastated, I mean she lost her best friend.

I stole Daveed's keys cause I can't be asked to walk 11km, I'm not really the athletic type. I played some of Daveed's playlist cause he really good taste.

Once I reached I greeted Stephanie, she was the receptionist and she was really nice. I went into the playroom and walked straight to Sophia.

"Hey Phia... how are you doing?" She looked at me with a soft smile before hugging me and moving back. "I'm ok Lin" she responded her voice making it unbelievable.

"You know when I was a kid my close friend moved to another country, it was very hard for me... I didn't know what to do. I ended up talking to my older sister about it-" she cut me off to say. "Sorry for what happened to you, Lin but I do not want to know about your past struggles, we can play astronauts though!" It made me feel great... I mean rejected by a 7-year-old.

"In a while Phia, let me check on Jonah first" she gave me a quick nod before going to play with Rosy, another kid her age.

I made my way to my little guy, it was always good to see him, he was hidden for so long but he was finally getting along with others. Although he didn't talk, he did make some good friends. Sophia, Ria, Maryann, and Catherine made it a point to keep the mean kids away from him.

"Hey bud, miss me?" I didn't come yesterday cause I got called to cover shifts, it was tiring but at least I was paid for it.

He looked up and grinned, nodding as he said his newly unlocked word to me "Hi..." I smiled and ruffled his hair. He liked that I did that every time we meet.

Another thing I do in front of him is talk about Pippa, I can't help it. It's not like he knows that I'm basically in love with her but sometimes he gives me those looks so I know when to stop.

Today we just ended up playing with some building blocks and dolls. Yes, dolls, he loves playing with them and so do i. We also played astronauts with the girls, it was a lot of fun.

I soon realize I've been here for about 3 hours, time always flies pretty fast when I'm with these kids. I left the orphanage after saying goodbye to the kids that play with me and a few of the employees as well.

I drove home ready to spend some time with my friends when I unlocked my door the lights were off and there was no sound. I was a little confused until I turned the lights on and found a note Daveed left for me.

Em and I are out on a date, we left at 5 so Pip should be home in an hour according to Emmy. There's no food here so go and chill in the girls' apartment.

I grabbed their spare house key and made my way to their apartment, I opened the door to hear and see the same thing. Maybe I spoke too soon, I think Pippa was on the couch but before I could do anything I heard her "Oh Steve...".

My face paled, before I made any noise I softly closed the door not to alarm them and went back to my house. I locked the door and slid down...

It hurt... this hurt. I couldn't help the tear that rolled down my cheek, the darkness of the room resonated with the darkness that filled my body. I wish I never heard that I tried to think of anything that would help. It felt like hours before I finally remembered...

I grab my phone and scroll through my contacts and find the one I'm looking for. I take a deep breath before pushing my thumb onto the bright screen. It's ringing...

"Lin?"

"Hey, Vanessa... can we talk?"

A/n: hey guys, its been some time. I'm gonna be honest random_bush3  pushed me to finish this off. I hope you like it even though it isn't that great.
