[y/n's pov]a week of school had finally passed. this school semester going excruciatingly slow.
just like every school mornings i was sat at my desk in homeroom, watching the world pass by through the window. the trees were gently swaying with the wind but unlike last week, today it was accompanied with fine droplets of rain. the wind and rain harmonising, creating a natural sound of music that could almost put you to sleep.
closing my eyes like usual, i focused on the sound outside, blocking out the screeching chatter residing in the classroom.
then a tap on my shoulder.
arghhagg why can't i be left at peace?
mentally groaning i stayed in my position, trying to go back to the steady calm i felt seconds ago. hoping whoever it was would take a hint and leave me alone.
please god all i'm asking is for 5 minutes alone.
but no. they once again tapped my shoulder, this time slightly prominent than before. irritated, i exhaled loudly, lifting my head turning to look at who so desperately needed my attention. when i met eyes with a black haired boy.
i looked at him blankly as he smiled at me, seeming scared to now speak after seeing my pissed expression.
"h-hey y/n" yeonjun shyly but awkwardly smiled.
my face was still blank.
"i- uh, i was just..." he was struggling to form a sentence.
"i'm yeonjun." he blurted out, nodding his head happily, almost as if he was trying to convince himself of what his name was.
looking at him my blank face disappeared now raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"if you disturbed me just to state the obvious then i'll get going." i sarcastically smiled at him, standing from my place and leaving the class room.
weirdo.
walking through the hallway i looked up at the clock placed hanging against the wall. realising there was 2 minutes left until school began, i made my way to the bathroom.
finishing my business the bell rang, not fazing me at all. i made my way out washing my hands and walking back to class. the hallways empty, as i took the longest route back to homeroom.
"nice of you to finally join us miss l/n" ms. baek sarcastically said upon me entering the classroom, earning sniggers from a couple students at the excruciatingly unfunny statement.
walking to my place i could feel a pair of eyes on me. looking and realising that it was none other than yeonjun.
paying no attention to him i sat at my seat, but could still feel the burning of his eyes on my back.
the next day
it was lunch time and i was at my regular spot at a bench under a big oak tree. i found comfort from this tree, it being perfect for blocking out the sun, rain etc. but the biggest reason was the fact that it was far from everyone, with the exception of the group that sat 3 benches away.
pulling out a new book that i just started, i began reading as i munched on my lunch.
when suddenly the toes of a pair of black converse peeked into my peripheral view. looking up i stared at the boy. annoyed.
"hey mind if i sit here." he said not even waiting for my answer as he sat next to me.
i ignored him hoping that would give him the hint to fuck off.
"watcha reading" he leaned closer to me, looking down over my shoulder.
"wow looks like you can finally talk" i nonchalantly said, hinting to the event that happened yesterday.
yeonjun giggled, rubbing the back of his neck "i was hoping you had forgotten about that."
looking up from my book, i diverted my gaze to the bench he came from. seeing a bunch of eyes on us. "i don't think your fan girls are happy with you talking to me." i said taking a bite of my sandwich. i also noticed the eyes of wooseok and his gang, finally getting an idea as to what the boy was trying to do.
"look i don't know what your intentions are but if this is some stupid bet you and your "gang" are trying to pull off then it's not gonna work." i bluntly stated to him, adding air quotations on the gang.
he looked flustered, "what? no... no. that's definitely not what's happening." he frantically shook his head. "i- i just-"
"you just what?"
"i-" he stared into my eyes, that were impatiently waiting for him to speak up.
he sighed. "i just wanna be your friend."
i scoffed looking down at my book and biting into my sandwich again, "i'm not interested."
"what why not?" he said, taken aback by my answer.
"i don't need to explain myself to you." i declared standing up.
"at least give me a chance." he watched as i packed my stuff into my bag, and walked away.
