it was the end of the day and yeonjun offered to walk me home. not that my answer would've made an impact as he still would've followed me anyways.

deja vu came over me as we walked into the near by park, yeonjun complaining he was tired after just walking 5 minutes or so. exactly like last time.

only this time i kept track of time and parted ways with yeonjun, making my way home. not in the mood to listen or endure my dads scolding over nothing.

entering the house i slipped off my shoes, bolting it up the stairs to my room not wanting to encounter anyone else that was in the house.

my body still in pain, the fever i had really hitting me hard.

i popped open a paracetamol tablet, taking it along with water. before changing out of my school uniform and passing out on my bed.

drifting away from my unconscious state, i opened my eyes being met with the shining moonlight that peeked through my curtains.

the loud chattering and shouting from my father and his friends downstairs echoed through the whole house.

how long was i asleep...

grabbing my phone that laid on the bedside table next to me, i tapped the screen only to quickly shut my eyes, not accustomed to the sudden bright light.

4:57am i read off the screen. i still didn't need to be awake for another 2 and a half hours but having received a good 12 hours of sleep, there was no way i could go back to sleep now.

i sat up on my bed, stretching as i let out a big yawn. it was now starting to get brighter, the sun peaking over the horizon, creating a mesmerising ombré in the sky, contrasting the dusk from dawn.

i got out of bed, making my way to the window. it was beautiful.

pushing open the window i carefully made my way out, letting my legs dangle as i sat on the ledge mesmerised by the sky.

getting lost in my thoughts i realised that i still have school today. may as well go in early.

—-

i walked into the empty classroom, accustoming myself to my desk. still having a good hour until school began i decided to go exploring.

walking in and out of the hallways i peeked into classrooms curious as to how many students where here in this early morning.

so far only four including the janitor and i.

stepping in twos up the spiral of stairs, i made my way up to the top floor. i wasn't really that familiar with it. all my classes being mainly on the first and second floor.

i walked all the way down the hallway, a large metal door stood at the end. curious, i pushed it open revealing a set of stairs.

making my way up, i was met with another large door. not hesitating i pushed it open, luckily it had one of those already installed locks so i had no problem.

it was a rooftop. the floor was covered in gravel but there were still weeds growing here and there, showing how infrequently it was used.

walking over to the edge, i carefully looked over, watching a couple of teachers making their way into the school.

carefully i sat not too close to the edge, lifting my legs over and letting just my feet dangle out. luckily the ledge was quite wide allowing me to stretch my legs out.

sitting there, i closed my eyes feeling the soft breeze and slowly inhaling the fresh air.

putting my hands either side of me, i let myself lean back. my arms holding me up as i kept my eyes closed, focusing on the chirps of the birds in the tree near by, not wanting to fall too deep into my thoughts.

"what are you thinking about."

i felt my heart skip a beat, and my fight and flight instincts slightly kicking in as i quickly opened my eyes, moving away from the direction of the sound of the intruder.

gasping out of shock, i was met with a face i so wanted to punch badly right now. yeonjun was leaning over his face plastered with an innocent smile as if he didn't just scare my soul back into hell.

"what the fuck?!" i let out punching his stomach. that sure wiped the smile off his face.

"agh no need to be aggressive." he exaggerated, climbing over to sit next to me.

"how did you even find me here?" i asked, not feeling a single ounce of remorse for the punch i gave him.

"i can see your shoes all the way from my house." he joked.

"hah hah hah." i let out robotically.

"ouch. no need to be so cold either." he gave a fake displeased look.

"what do you mean? your jokes make me crack up so much." i said with the straightest face i could.

"i know right. sometimes i think i should change my profession to a stand up comedian."

i looked over at him, he held a proud smile. "wow... i'm not sure if you don't understand sarcasm or if you're just a great actor." i jokingly stated, looking back out into the view.

"i mean either way kudos to you." i tilted my head in confusion with a slight smile.

suddenly yeonjun let out a loud exaggerated gasp. "omg!" he held his hand to his mouth. "did i just make THE y/n smile??!!!"

i rolled my eyes at him, "gosh i thought someone died." laughing at my statement he turned back around copying my position.

we both sat there in a comfortable silence, leaning back into our arms just looking up at the sky.

"you sure do seem to love the sky." yeonjun gently let out.

"it's beautiful." i softly whispered. "the way it can quickly change into how it pleases is beautiful. how it controls itself, one day choosing to be a blue ocean, the next it's occupied by fluffy cotton balls, or how it makes music with its tears. it's just... mesmerising." losing myself, i unknowingly let out my thoughts. getting confused between reality and my mind.

i closed my eyes, leaning my head back further and breathing in the fresh air. oh how i would love to stay in a calm like this forever.

"we should get going." i sighed, opening my eyes and turning to yeonjun only to find him already staring at me.

he looked at me with an emotion i couldn't quite read. it wasn't anger, nor pity, nor sadness...

he then gave me a soft smile.

"what's up with you?" i asked, weirded out.

he then smiled further. his cheeks pushing into his eyes causing them to disappear.

"nothing." he got off the ledge still smiling, "let's go?" he offered his hand out to me.

still weirded out, i didn't question any further grabbing his hand as he helped me jump down from the wall.
