Chapter 11

  "We're back!" Yuugo called out as we entered the lobby to the dorms.

  "We've returned!"

  "Hey, Aikawa."

  "Been a while! Oh, did you get a tan?"

  "I was working the whole time. After summer break, everyone looks different."

  "Aikawa, Yuugo, Yuuno, welcome back." A short girl said while passing, and I had to do a double-take to realize it was Tamako.

  "Huh? Who's that?" The boys watched her walk up to Mikage. "Did we have any girls like that?"

  "It's been a while. Tama, you've lost a lot of weight!"

  "The summer heat got to me." Aikawa and Yuugo were both floored when they heard the girl was Tamako.

  "It's more like a transformation than weight loss...."

  "Yo! Hachikens, Aikawa, long time no see!"

  "....Who're you?"

  "It's Tokiwa!" The flamboyantly dressed boy was dancing around and talking with a rhythm. His hair was in a bright red mohawk, and combined with his dancing, he looked like a scrawny rooster.

  "What's one plus one?" Yuugo asked.

  "Three!"

  "It's Tokiwa, all right. What's with that mohawk?! Is that chicken respect?"

  "Pfff!" I covered my mouth while turning away.

  "Oh, been a while, Komaba."

  "Oh, Tamako! You lost weight."

  "Was the baseball club training non-stop?"

  "Yeah, it was either training or away games. I was really glad to have Yuuno on the ranch to help out while I was gone." Komaba grinned while looking my way and raising the carton of milk in his hand.

  "Did you grow more muscle?"

  "I guess you haven't changed that much, huh?"

  "Wait! Stop!" Yoshino raised her hand. "What do you mean Yuuno was on your ranch?! I thought she went with Yuugo to Mikage's!"

  "I did. Then I ended up helping Komaba."

  "We live near Aki." Komaba explained before taking a drink from his milk.

  "Oh?" Tamako quirked up a brow while holding her chin. "How was the work Yuuno did?"

  "Pretty good."

  "So....smart and a good laborer? Yuuno, I have a proposal for you." Tamako pointed at me, and I adjusted the weight of my bag on my should.

  "What?"

  "After graduating, why not come join my dairy farm's workforce? I could always use a good set of hands, especially if they come with an adept mind."

  "Oh, uh, I'll pass. Thank you, though." I waved my hand.

  "Why? The pay is good, and the environment is clean."

  "I'm not sure 'clean' is what Yuuno's concerned about. She wrestled a calf in mud to get it to drink its milk." Komaba stated, and Yoshino snorted.

  "Seriously?!"

  "It needed to eat, okay? No calf goes hungry on my watch!"

  "If you'd taken it to the barn, you wouldn't have had to worry about the mud." Komaba chuckled.
