As soon as mom and I had reached her car I bombarded her with question. "Why do you have to pack? Where are you going? We're not moving, right?" I asked my mom as she turned the key in the car causing the engine to start. "No we are not moving I just have to go away for work for a little while, that's all"
"A little while? How long is a little while?" I asked as mom drove away from the LaRusso's house. "Only 10 days, I'll be leaving tomorrow" I watched as we turned a corner. "10 days? That's bullshit mom you said when we first moved here that you would rarely be going away and it's what your second day working here and you already have to leave?"
"Look I'm not in the mood now to argue about this I'm sorry" she said as we pulled up to my house. "Don't worry about it I'll be fine" I said also not wanting to argue. I opened the door and got out the car waiting for mom to open the front door so I could get in the house.
She slowly walked over to me fiddling around in her bag looking for her keys while I watched waiting for her to hurry up.
After searching for a few minutes she finally got the keys out the side of her bag and continued to unlock the door.
As soon as we got inside Max ran up to me trying to jump on me. "Hi Max" I said bending down to his level and petting him. I went into the laundry and got out his food and filled it up and his bowl outside. Max gobbled it up pretty quickly and we both went back inside to my room upstairs.
I opened my door and Max ran in as fast as he could jumping up on my bed. I picked up a few clothes that were on my floor putting them in the basket opposite my door. I then took the clothes off I had on and put on clothes that were comfortable on since I had been in those sweaty training clothes.
I sat on my bed next to Max and went on my phone while petting him. I went on Snapchat and opened a snap from Robby from a few minutes ago that said 'your not moving are you?' With a photo of him with a serious face. I giggled a little at the face he was making and replied saying that my mom was just going out for a bit.
I got up and chucked my phone on my bed and got out a medium sized mat that was in my wardrobe and practised what Mr LaRusso had taught me earlier today starting with the self defence moved and moving on to kicks and punches.
I heard my door open and I looked behind me to see my mom walking in. "Hey, what are you doing" she asked coming closer to me. "Just practising some karate that Mr LaRusso taught me" my mom went and sat down on the small chair in the corner of my room. "Now are you sure you want to do karate I mean when I was with Daniel around your age I would have to watch him get beat up and hurt badly I just, do you think you can handle it?" My mom asked not knowing what happened today when I beat hawk up.
I went and sat down next to her. "Mom, today I beat up some guy who had been taking karate lessons for months so I think I'm good"
"You what?!" She asked alarmed at what I just said. "Yeah, some guy from cobra Kai karate came over to us and tried to hit me so I defended myself and I won"
"Did you say cobra Kai?" She asked still alarmed at what I just told her. "Yeah, why?"
"Oh honey this cobra kai's are bad news okay, try not to hey hooked up with those kids, okay?"
"Yes mom"
She quickly got up and left my room shutting the door behind her. "That was weird" I said looking over at Max who looked to be almost asleep.
I went and laid down on my bed when and picked up my phone to see I had an incoming FaceTime call from Sam.
Call:
Paris: Heyy
Sam: hey, so are you okay, why does your mom need to pack?
Paris: oh she's just going away for work for a little over a week not a big deal
Sam: oh good for a second I thought you were leaving, I got scared but um I'm going to the dojo tomorrow around 10, Meet you there?
Paris: sounds good see you then
