Game day!

October 20th

9 AM

I woke up early this morning ready to tackle the day. Surprisingly Dak is still passed out next to me, surprisingly because it is game day. Last night must have taken a toll more on him than me. Heheheh. I throw my hair up into a lazy bun and get out of bed. The pups made their way up to the bedroom last night falling asleep at the edge of the bed. They followed me downstairs probably because they really need to go outside. I slide open the sliding door letting the dogs into the backyard, when a sudden alarm starts ringing loudly. Fuck I set off the alarm. This scared the shit out of me. I didn't even know he had one. I haven't noticed. At the top of the staircase that is visibly above both the living room and kitchen stands a half asleep, but worried man. Oh Dak. I'm sorry. He comes to the steps rather quickly hitting the numbers quickly to disarm the alarm. The sound than stops as he looks at me disturbingly. Oh damn.

"Sorry I didn't know you had an alarm. I was just trying to let the dogs out." I say innocently.

He smiles, shaking his head, pulling me into a hug.

"It's okay baby. But yea I have an alarm system." He says trying to brighten the mood like a smart ass.

"I can see that." I say pushing him away from me entering the kitchen to make a cup of coffee.

I remember my father had an alarm system when we were kids and you had to hold down a button for a few seconds until it said armed. I don't remember him doing anything like that last night.

"Hey don't you physically have to hold a button down in order for that to be armed? My dad had one at our house growing up and we had to hit a button. I don't remember you doing anything like that last night." I say casually.

"I didn't. I have an app on my phone. Right before we dozed off I hit arm on this app I have on my phone so I don't physically have to do it. Only if it goes off like it did just a little while ago I would physically need to type in a code." He says.

"Good to know now. After almost taking a heart attack." I say smirking.

"Let me see your phone. I'll download the app for you so you can unset and set it when you're here through this. Just so you don't freak yourself out again." He says.

Woah. He is trusting me with his alarm system? That's a big step. For the good. There is no way he would give this out just to anyone. I must be some sort of special! But I don't act like I'm surprised like this to him. Only inside.

I gave him my phone and the app was downloaded within seconds. He quickly showed me how to operate it. It's a super simple thing to comprehend.

"Do you want breakfast?" I say pulling out a pan to make egg and cheese omlets. My go to.

"Nah. I only drink these shakes for breakfast on game day." He says pulling out a shake in a square plastic bottle.

Shit I forgot about the game. The whole alarm thing caused it to slip from my head.

"Oh my god. I totally forgot about the game! And I woke you from your sleep! I am so sorry Dak. I hope this doesn't affect your morning game preparation." I say nervously because I don't want him to be off his game due to the unexpected morning he had.

"I'm up now. It's all good." He says shortly but has a smile to his face.

I so so so secretly love him. I would never tell him that. He's just so sweet and shows perfect guy material on the daily.

Tonight's game was a night game so I had until 8:00 to do whatever I wanted. I'm also unsure of what time Dak has to leave to get to the stadium. How will I pass time?
