Unexpected Love Dak Prescott

Chapter 10

I stood in my kitchen anxiously thinking what Zeke possibly had to say to me. Is it important? Related to Dak in any way? Some bullshit to just waste my time? I had no clue and was afraid to look.

It's a little bit after midnight here, so its around 11pm in Texas.. Are they all together?

After minutes of hesitation, I open up the Instagram app clicking on the direct message box. I read it slowly with the message reading:

Zeke- YOOOOOO

I answered after about 5 minutes.

Kaylie- lol hi Zeke

Zeke- whatssssss uppppppp

Kaylie- yanno, nothing much what's up with you?

Zeke- just chilling with my Boyz

Kaylie- I couldn't really tell. Sounds like fun tho

Zeke- Dakie misses you

Is he drunk or something? Why is he acting like this? I Don't even know how to answer this...

Kaylie- hmmm. Have you been drinking Zeke?

Zeke- oh no no. Not one bit.

Kaylie- mhm. okay

Zeke- For real shit tho, Dak

What the hell does that even mean?

Kaylie- lol Goodnight Zeke

Zeke- Goodnight Dak's lover

Ok, what the heck just happened?? Zeke's personality is pretty weird, but not this weird. Why is he reaching out to me saying all these things relating to Dak? Does he say this to all the girls Dak hooks up with? Ughh why me? Dak himself hasn't even reached out to me since we parted ways on Monday afternoon. this is all too much. It makes me tired, sad and confused all at once.

I didn't even get to finish the full movie because I'm too worked up right now about all of this. I'm going to bed and I'll think more about it in the morning.

The Next Morning

I woke up around 10:30 today, which is considered pretty late for me. Me waking up this late is probably because of my chat with Zeke late last night. I grab my phone off my nightstand, unplugging it, opening it up to see a New Message Alert from Dak from 2 hours ago. OMG. FINALLY! I do not know why I'm getting my hopes up, I haven't even read the message yet. With my luck, it'll be like stop texting my best friend you creep, or like yea I used you, but thanks for the fun. I nervously open it to see a decently large paragraph.

Here we go....

Dak- Good Morning Kaylie! I feel childish doing this over text, but I know with the time difference it's about 8:00 or so over there so I didn't want to wake you. I wanted to just apologize it took me a few days to reach out to you. It's been a busy past few days preparing for this weeks game. I really like you and really want to see you again real soon. I hope I didn't give off the wrong vibe, I'm really into ya. I have practice now, but I look forward to hearing from ya later. Oh, and also, sorry about Zeke last night, I heard it from the guys just a few minutes ago. I hope he didn't scare ya away!

EEEEEKKKK. He's into me and wants to see me real soon. Uh, hell yea. I can't stop smiling! Today is the best day ever! ANDDD Chloe comes home today! Woooooo

I start to type back what I'm going to say to him.

Kaylie- Good Morning! No worries, feel free to call whenever! I totally understand, I can't even imagine how busy your schedule is with football. I really enjoyed our time spent together and look forward to hanging out again soon too! Lol, Zeke always freaks me out, I know he's crazzyyy hahaha. Call me later if ya get a chance so we can talk! Have fun at practice!

I send the text with a huge grin on my face. I know he probably won't answer for a while. now, since he's a practice, and I can imagine those running for a very long time.

I finally got out of bed and decide to make breakfast. Ugh I have work in 2 1/2 hours.. ugh... After eating breakfast, I hop in the shower and start getting ready for work, hoping Dak replies within that time...
