༆ Today, I had a plan. I was going to do my research on this whole vampire situation. Also it might be best if I listen to him and just stay away from kio, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if he died because of me. I'm going to try and make new friends.
I quickly unlock my front door and rush into the house. I look for my grandma.
What the hell, where is she?
Her car is parked outside but she's not here, strange. I pull out my phone about to call her when I hear noise in the back yard. I open the door and see nana picking some weird plants out of the garden.
She looks at me and smiles, " Thank goodness you're here, I need some help."
I put my phone down on the patio chair and go to help her.
"Pull this here up from the root", she says.
I nod and try to pull up the plant. I pull it a little bit harder and see the roots starting to break.
"There you go y/n/n", she encourages.
I finally pull the damn plant out of the ground and set it on the patio table.
Nana shakes her head, " take it in the house"
I lay the heavy plant on the dining room table, and take a step back examining it.
"What is it?", I ask confused.
She tears off a piece of it, " this is pure vervain, it's also in that ring there"
"This will keep you safe"
"What", I look down at the ring, " Grandma?"
She looks up to me quickly, "something strange happened today", I said.
She sighed, " Actually there's something I need to tell you"
I glance at her playing with the ring.
"Do you believe in the supernatural ?"
I shrug my shoulders, even though I remember everything, this doesn't seem real, it's crazy.
"Well you're going to have to; vampires prowl on the innocent and men become wolves under the full moon", she says flickering the plant.
My eyes widened, this is real?! And she fucking knew all along. I covered my mouth with my hand.
"Vinnie, I-um-he he is a vampire", i whisper.
"I had a feeling one of them had gotten to you, this plant is like poison to them; it also nullifies their mind controlling abilities"
My mind takes me back to the moment.
"You got lost in the darkness, ok?"
He was trying to control me but I'm guessing the ring didn't let him.
"Did he hurt you?", she walks closer to me.
I nod my head and show her the bite mark, he must've forgotten to heal me since I was awake.
She rushes over to me and looks at the wound with pure concern in her eyes.
"Aw y/n/n", she pats my shoulder, " I'm gonna get that cleaned up for you"
I wince as I feel the alcohol on my wound, leaving a burning sensation. She cleans the bite with a cotton ball and peroxide.
Then she covers it with a bandaid, " I am so sorry I should have told you sooner baby", she rubs my cheek.
I place my hand on hers, " I wouldn't have believed you anyways"
She nods letting out a sigh, " You don't have to go to school tomorrow if you don't want to."
I shake my head, I needed to make sure he didn't hurt Kio, " I'll be fine."
"Ok", she says raising an eyebrow, " you should go get some rest"
I nod and go to my room.
I toss and turn in my bed, seeking comfort so I could sleep; but it was nearly impossible. Who would be able to sleep after hearing that things that belong in a horror movie exist?
I'm practically shaking in fear, even though I know he can't get in my mind anymore, it scares me that I had to experience that.
I roll over and lay on my back, looking at the ceiling fan spin. When I was little this is how I used to fall asleep because the term 'counting sheep' confused the shit out of me. I shut my eyes in attemp to get some rest.
A few hours later I finally fell asleep. The covers were over my head to give me some sort of protection and my door was wide open for nana to come in and check on me.
Maddy's POV
I opened my curtains to let the sunshine in my room, waking me up more. I lit a few candles, welcoming peaceful spirits in.
I turn on my shower and let the water run for a little bit so it could get hot; I brush my teeth as the water heats up.
I put my long red hair in a little bun and begin to strip.
Once I was bare I step into the hot shower and let the water run on me for a little. I grab my lufa and rub my soap on it before washing my body.
I step out of the shower and let down my hair. I brush it out as little waves start to form. I wrap my towel around my body and go to my closet to find some clothes.
I slip on my silky little black dress with lace hem and a pair of slippers. I put on a black cardigan over it and leave the closet.
I grab my water and pour it in the plants, watching them absorb every drop of it. Then I sit criss cross on my floor. Preparing myself for what my true intentions were when I moved here, Riverton.
I take a knife and slit my hand then make a fist, pouring out my blood into the silver cup. I grab the used tampon and squeezed the blood from it, putting it in a separate silver cup.
I close my eyes and chant, "Si obvium habueris puellam virginem hodie puellam salutat virginem hodie"
The candle flame is blown away as I continue to chant. I open my eyes and pour the blood into one silver cup, combining the two.
"Si obvium habueris puellam virginem hodie puellam salutat virginem hodie", i chant it a little louder as the room begins to shake.
The candles relight themselves and I look into the blood, staring at my own reflection in the liquid.
