My vision slowly returns as I escape the darkness. I open my eyes and see the ceiling of my room.

I was left in utter confusion, I couldn't recall what had happened before I laid.

It was as if someone had swiped my memory from me, but that is simply not possible. This whole situation was so strange.

I felt my blood flow to my feet as I stepped on the cold wooden floor boards.I decided to go and check on my grandmother.

As I thought, she was resting on the sofa. Her soft snores filled the room. I press a kiss on her soft cheek and caress her arm. A peice of her grey going-on white hair was in her face so I moved it behind her ear.

I walked back to my room and lay in my twin size bed as I attempted to go back to sleep.

My eyes remained open for another hour and I flipped my pillow to the cool side. I rolled over to lay on my back and finally I was able to sleep.

As I walked through the doors of Riverton highschool I realized the halls are empty. I woke up quite late today so everyone was probably in class. Kio was also not in sight.

I venture the empty hallways, making my way to my first period. I step into mr Lopez's class and gave him my late slip. He put his signature on it and I sat in an empty desk.

I scan the classroom to catch up and I lock eyes with a curly headed boy sporting all black. Tattoos covered the skin on his arms as he continued to look at me.

Is he new? I've never seen him before.

A grin appears on his chiseled face and his eyes go back to Mr. Lopez as he teaches his class.

I set my supplies on my desk and try to listen to mr Lopez's lecture. He was teaching us a lesson based on calculus.

I took notes as he spoke so I could look over them later; my focus wasn't very good today but this lesson seems important.

The intercom comes on interrupting his lesson.

'Students of Riverton high school, we will be holding a memorial for our dear student Jake Evans who sadly passed away 2 days ago. The memorial will be held next week on Monday so please do inform your friends and family. Thank you and have a nice day.'

The intercom makes a loud buzzing sound before it turns off. I look at the students and they're all talking, either about Jake or whatever else. The curly headed boy however, was quiet with his face in his hands as he repeatedly tapped his foot on the floor tiles.

"Ok class settle down", mr Lopez says as he went on to teach again before he was interrupted.

I gave him my attention and continued to note his wording.
