The brunette instantly lurches up and is on her feet, but before she could make her way back to the dorms, she runs into a bust. "Y/n!" A pair of strong arms holds her. "Hey I thought you went to get a cloth?"

"Tae-"

"Never mind, Yeri got the mess covered." Taehyung smiles, tucking a strand of her loose hair behind her ear. Although an urgency keeps flashing on y/n's face, the other seems overly excited to notice that. "I want to ask you something..." Taehyung coyly scratches his left cheek.

"Ah um Tae- I...I have to...uh", Taehyung watches her, worry casting his handsome countenance. She sighs, finally composing herself. "Um yeah?" Her gaze settles on the blue haired, forcing a smile.

"Is there something wrong, y/n? Cause this can wait." Taehyung shrugs as if it really was nothing. The truth is he was keen to voice out his thoughts since the moment it dwelt in.

Although y/n is dying to leave as soon as possible, she can not abandon her friend. That friend who denies to leave her alone. The one friend who was the only consolation through the darkest night.

"No. Please carry on. What is it?" This time a genuine smile shadows her face. "Y/n, I heard the fireworks on New Year's Eve can be seen from the back garden so I wanted to know if we could watch it together?" An insignificant blush crept on Taehyung's face, also lighting his ears red. It is not hard to notice. This is the very moment y/n has not mastered to handle.

For a moment y/n is determined to decline the proposal but how can she? This negation will lead to one question and then another. The questions she does not know how to answer right now. Let alone the fact she does not want to crush his feelings. So here she is doing what feels the easiest, "I'd love to."

Her weakness dominated her her. Yet again.

"Great. You head to the dorm, I'll just check on the party mess back there." He chuckles and skips his way back to the cafeteria. Y/n sighs, her shoulders sagging. She can probably visit Jimin's apartment. There is a fat chance his roommate will not be with him.

Maybe she has a chance.

Repeating the former sentence assuring herself, she treads towards the second floor. It is then, she realises she does not know which apartment he lives in. She has seen him walking out of the two doors. One, which he lives in and the other, belonging to his friends.

Now which one was supposed to be his apartment?

"Did not expect you to depend on me so much?" She hears a familiar bubble of laughter. She rolls her eyes and turns back to answer Taehyung but he is quicker. "Lost baby girl? Seems like you are aging faster than I thought." He flicks her chin earning a snort. "You would wish, won't you?"

"Come on now y/n, I can be nice." The blunette gives her a push start, walking off towards their apartment. He did forget to make jokes to annoy the other but instead the outcome was hell lot of eye rolls and tittering fits.

| 31 DECEMBER

It's been long since y/n read those letters. Days have passed by. Faster than she could have comprehended. Maybe it is because nothing special happened. No Jimin happened.

Heavy snow covered the grass, the surrounding has changed a lot. Even Jimin's hair which were once gorgeous black locks are now blonde. He perfectly pulls it off, matching his current aura.

The two run into each other at least once or twice a day. Though it is safe to say, for some milliseconds. Before y/n can even accumulate his presence properly, he takes an about turn disappearing from her sight.

Maybe he is ashamed of himself. Maybe he is not yet ready to face the brunette, just yet. Even if he is, what more can he say now when he thinks it is better for them to be apart.

Something, even after all this, attracted y/n towards him. Like a moth lured to the flame, it is not supposed to be but bound to happen. It is something even nature can not procrastinate.

"Hmm. It really suits him." Y/n flinches when a breath tickles her cheek. And that's when she realises she has been staring at Jimin. For too long long. "W- What?" She takes a sip of her orange juice. "Miss Y/n is busy dreaming about Park", Taehyung acts dramatically, sighing as a whipped princess.

"No. I'm not." She protests. "Oh my darling prince...", the blunette says, extra dreamy. "I sound nothing like that and Tae, shut up!" Y/n focuses on her food, a bright red tinging her round cheeks. "Do you realise you have not touched your food?" Taehyung snickers.

"I-I have! See t- the peas were...here and now it's- it's here?" She says immediately wanting to strangle herself at that, knowing how ridiculous she sounded. Taehyung could only chuckle. "What an idiot! Just eat up alright." His gaze flits to his phone when it lighted up. He excuses himself from the table and talks to the other person on the line.

Y/n drifts back to her crucial thoughts. It is 31st of December already. In a few hours this whole place will thump with a New Year mood. But what truly is making major parts of her go frenzy are the fireworks. She is overly excited about it though there is just one teeny tiny problem. Who is she going to accompany?

Jimin? Or Taehyung?

She does not want to turn down Taehyung because he is her one true friend. And mostly cause she can not dare to. She has not agreed to Jimin yet. So, basically she is tied with Taehyung. Although, it can be the only chance with Jimin. He left her a choice after all.

"Y/n, I have to leave for my hometown. My mom called me over for a casual family time, you know."

'Yes!', the brunette's face lights up. This can be a sign to go for Jimin. But by Taehyung's expression she presumes, perhaps she added a little extra decibels to her head voice, saying it out loud for the other to hear.

Before Taehyung could say anything y/n speaks up impulsively, "I mean yes... but what about seeing fireworks together?" At that, Taehyung chuckles. "I'll make it before eleven thirty, okay?"

'Really, y/n, you had to ask?' She cusses, scrunching her nose as a sarcastic smile forms on her lips.
