Gon raced down the sidewalk, the seeded crust of buttered toast still hanging out his mouth. This was his first day of school ever, and he woke up less than five minutes ago.
He had been homeschooled by his Aunt Mito his entire life, and he was entering freshman year in a brand new town at a brand new school. His apartment building had two apartments in it. Him and his aunt lived on the first floor, while his neighbors lived on the floor above them. He hadn't met them yet, but he figured he would investigate after school.
Gon's book bag was hanging from one shoulder, his whole appearance was rushed and he looked like a mess. While he was too preoccupied with his scrambled thoughts, he had crashed into something, rather someone.
The remnants of clay flew everywhere, and him and the person he ran into fell to the floor. "Shit..." the person groaned, rubbing his forehead from the impact. Gon looked up, and his eyes fell upon the most beautiful boy he's ever seen. The boy had curly white hair that was not combed properly. The boy's pale skin almost matched the color of his hair, and his bright blue eyes symbolized the depth of the sea. Gon was lost in thought, and didn't realize he was staring.
"Hey! What are you looking at? Help me clean this up!" the boy hissed, scurrying around to clean up the broken pieces of clay. "Sorry!" Gon exclaimed, immediately diving in to help. "This extra credit was supposed to bring my grade up... Now it's shattered." the boy mumbled. Gon's eyes lit up at this depressing sentence, "You go to school!" Gon shouted.
The boy shot a strange look at Gon, "Uh yeah?" he said, hopelessly trying to force pieces back together. Gon grinned from ear to ear, "At Yorknew Highschool?" he exclaimed. The boy blinked at him, "The only highschool around here? Yeah." he mumbled. Gon's smile brightened, and the boy took notice of this, "Me too! It's my first day!" he exclaimed, pointing to his messy book bag. The boy sighed, and dropped the shattered pieces of clay. He stood up and lent a hand out to Gon, "We're gonna be late for your first day too, come on." he muttered. Gon gazed up at the boy, the sun behind him made him look angelic, causing Gon to stare.
He took the hand of the boy, and pulled himself up. "But, your project?" Gon said, looking back at the mess they left on the pavement. They began to run to school, and the boy shook his head. "It's a lost cause, whatever." he said shoving his hands into his pockets. Gon watched his action and frowned, it was as if his hands missed holding the now shattered object and went into hibernation instead. "I'll make it up to you." Gon exclaimed, absolutely determined. The boy shot him a soft look, and then continued to look ahead. "Im Killua." Killua said, the words rolling off his tongue so smoothly. Gon smiled, "Im Gon!" Gon exclaimed.
