The school day had felt like it had been going on for too long, and Gon was ready to short circuit. Killua rested his cheek on his desk, doodling on the worksheet they were supposed to be filling out. "And with that, I'll see everyone on Monday, class dismissed." Mr Wing said.

Gon cheerfully skipped over to Killuas desk, who was packing his things.

"Killua!" Gon sang, as Killua raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah?" Killua asked, throwing his bag over his shoulder. "Let's hang out today!" Gon said. "Sure." Killua said, walking out with Gon.

They walked to their apartment building and Gon seemed more cheerful than usual. "Why are you so happy?" Killua asked, noticing Gon's smile hasn't faded since they left school. "I get to hang out with you today!" Gon exclaimed, raising his arms up. "We've hung out every day." Killua said sarcastically, secretly loving the praise. Gon shook his head, "We were always busy doing something, now we get to hangout for no reason at all!" Gon exclaimed, his eyes shimmering in the light.

They stopped in front of the apartment building, and Gon put a finger to his bottom lip. "What do you want to do?" Killua asked, tilting his head. "I was thinking the same thing. Hmm..." Gon muttered, scanning the front of the building.

He raised his finger up, and then pointed at something. "What's that?" Gon asked, pointing at Killuas yellow skateboard leaning up against the side of the house.

"Oh that's my skateboard." Killua said, realizing he hasn't used it in a while. Gon gasped silently, and then turned to Killua with an excited look in his face. "Can you teach me!" Gon exclaimed, and in Killua's eyes Gon seemed to be glowing. "Sure why not."

Killua said, picking up the board and skating back to Gon. "Wow!" Gon said in amazement. Killua stepped off, kicking the board up and catching it with ease. "You're so good at it Killua!" Gon exclaimed, clapping his hands together.

A blush dusted Killua's face at the sudden praise from Gon. "Th-thanks." he stammered, receiving a nod from Gon. Killua placed the board back down onto the sidewalk, and looked at Gon.

"Here, step on." Killua said, and Gon gulped. "O-okay!" Gon stuttered, as he cautiously placed a foot on the board. He put the other foot on the board, but immediately felt unstable and began to shake.

Killua held onto his hands, and adjusted Gon's footing with his foot. "I got you." Killua said, stepping back but still holding onto his hands.

Gon nodded, and looked down at his feet. "Feeling more stable?" Killua asked. "Yeah, but don't let go." Gon said, giving Killua's hands a small squeeze. "I won't. I'm gonna move the board forward so just try to keep your balance." Killua said, and Gon gave him a small nod.

Killua began to slowly walk forward, bringing Gon and the board with him. Gon felt the board shake beneath him, but he trusted Killua fully so he wasn't afraid.

Gon uncontrollably grinned at the movement, "Killua I'm not falling!" he exclaimed. Killua nodded, and couldn't help but smile up at Gon. "Good job Gon!" Killua said, bringing his pace to a stop.

"Do you want me to let go?" Killua asked, tilting his head. "No I want you to stay like this a bit longer." Gon muttered. Killua nodded, and began walking down the sidewalk again.

"Hey Gon, try putting a foot out and pushing off the ground, like this." Killua said, demonstrating the motion with his own foot. Gon nodded, and did as he said. He pushed off of the ground, quickening the pace on the skateboard.

Gon giggled, "I did it!" he said cheerfully. Killua chuckled back, he felt proud of Gon, an emotion he's never felt towards another person.

Killua slowed to a stop once again, catching Gon's attention. "Gon, I think I can let go now." Killua said. Gon bit his bottom lip, and then nodded. "If you say so..." he mumbled, letting go of Killua's hands.

Gon steadied himself on the board, and then laughed silently when the board became completely still. "Killua, I did- WOAH!" Gon exclaimed, falling forward into Killua's arms.

The skateboard went flying down the sidewalk, and Killua caught Gon who breathed slowly into Killua's ear. They didn't move for a moment, "You okay?" Killua asked, worried Gon bit his tongue or something. "Mmmhmm. Thanks for catching me." Gon said, pushing himself off of Killua slowly.

Gon's attention turned to the skateboard down the street, "I'll get it!" Gon exclaimed, chasing after it. Killua watched, replaying the sound of Gon's breath in his ear over and over again.

Gon ran back and placed the board back down on the floor. "I'm gonna try again." he said, placing one foot onto the board. "Just be careful Gon." Killua said, extending his arms in case he fell again.

Gon nodded, and then stepped fully onto the board. It took him a moment to catch his balance, but he did it. "Okay i'm gonna give you a little push..." Killua said, placing his hand on Gon's lower back.

He pushed him slightly, and Gon managed to stay balanced while rolling along slowly. "Killua..." Gon whispered. "I know, stay focused." Killua whispered back, walking beside him.

"Ready to put the foot out?" Killua asked, receiving a small nod from Gon. He put out his front foot, and gave himself a small push.

Gon couldn't contain his excitement, as he gasped and exclaimed, "Killuaaaa!" Killua giggled at his enthusiasm, "Stay focused so you don't-" Killua began, but could not finish his sentence.

Gon lost balance a second time, and fell into Killua with more force, sending them both down to the ground.

"Fall." Killua finished, relieved that they fell onto a patch of grass. Gon pushed himself up from atop of Killua, and smiled brightly.

"Did you see me!" Gon exclaimed. Killua noticed how close their faces were and immediately pushed Gon off. "Y-yeah I saw you." Killua stammered, sitting up.

He noticed the sky was tinted pink, and the sun was out of sight. "I need to get home, you should too." Killua said, standing up.

Gon looked up at him and frowned. "When will you be able to stay for a sleepover, Killua?" Gon asked, slightly pouting. "Maybe some other time." Killua said, holding a hand out to help Gon up.

Gon let out an exaggerated sigh, and took Killua's hand.

Killua waved Gon goodbye, and headed up the stairs to his own apartment. He searched his pockets, and realized he left his key inside. He let out a sigh, and knocked on the door. No response. Illumi wasn't home tonight. Shit. Killua sat against the door and thought about his options. He could go find a hotel, or...
