Gon studied all night. The idea of Killua succeeding while Gon was left behind terrified him. So he spent his entire night figuring out how to 'cancel numbers out'.

He walked to school with Killua an hour earlier than usual so they could take their test. Killua noticed the dark tinted circles under Gon's eyes, "Did you go to sleep late last night?" Killua asked. Gon chuckled nervously, "No. Well, I didn't sleep. So it doesn't count." Gon muttered through the cold air. "Gon you shouldn't stay up all night!" Killua lectured.

Gon stuck his tongue out slightly, and Killua interpreted this as a 'whoops.' Killua rolled his eyes as they continued to walk to school.

The boys took the test, and were determined with the sheets they handed in. "Right. I'll check these later today boys." Mr. Wing said with a small smile.

Killua and Gon strolled through the empty hallways, since they had extra time to kill. A ping from Gon's phone went off, and Gon opened his phone to find the notification. Gon gasped, grabbing Killuas attention.

"What?" Killua asked, watching Gon stare down at his phone in shock. "It's Aunt Mitos Birthday! I didn't get her anything!" Gon exclaimed.

Killua didn't know how to handle situations like this, his family didn't even take celebration into consideration. "Just make her a cake or something." he suggested, and Gon's eyes lit up at the idea. Gon grabbed Killuas arms, "Please please pleeease help me bake a cake!" Gon begged, his voice bouncing off of the walls throughout the corridor.

Killua stood in shock, "O-okay okay! Let go idiot!" Killua hissed, as Gon celebrated. "Yay! Should we do chocolate or vanilla or...." Gon rambled on, while Killua watched in amazement. This boy didn't sleep at all last night, how did he have this infinite amount of energy stored within his body?

They arrived at Gon's apartment five minutes after school ended. "I think we can't go wrong with chocolate, don't you think Killua?" Gon asked as they walked through the front door. "Yeah chocolates good." Killua said, slipping his shoes off.

The boys walked over to the kitchen while Gon searched the cabinets for baking ingredients. "Do you even have a recipe?" Killua asked, raising an eyebrow. Gon stopped in his tracks, and awkwardly giggled. "Ah... No. Could you find one Killua?" Gon asked. Killua chuckled and pulled his phone from his pocket.

The recipe that caught Killua's eye was called easiest chocolate cake ever, and this was his pick for obvious reasons. He brought the recipe over to Gon who frowned at the title.

"How about..." Gon muttered, taking Killua's phone to type something in. He turned the phone back to Killua showing him a new recipe, "...The Best Chocolate Cake Ever!" he exclaimed. "Uh... Do you even know how to bake?" Killua asked. Gon blinked at him for a few seconds, "Do you know how to bake?" Gon turned the question on Killua. "I have before, but that doesnt make me a pro or anything..." Killua muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "Perfect! The best chocolate cake ever it is." Gon chirped, reading over the ingredients.

They collected all of the ingredients and placed them onto the counter. "Ok. So... Do we mix?" Gon asked, picking up a stick of butter and a bag of flour. Killua scoffed, "We have to measure everything out and place them in the correct bowls. Gon have you baked before?" Killua asked, taking the butter and flour from him.

Gon chuckled awkwardly, "Well... No. But how hard can it be?" Gon added, making Killua laugh. "I'll take hold onto the instructions for now." Killua said, rolling his eyes.

They divided the ingredients into separate bowls, and Killua read further into the directions. "Can I mix now!" Gon whined. "Yeah go ahead." Killua said, as Gon mouthed the word 'yay' silently.
