Sizzle laughed as she was taking a bite of the camel. Sunbeam just cracked a clever joke and was grinning fondly at her. "So, you feeling better, bestie?"

"Yeah, totally. Thanks, Beam," she nodded and took another bite of the camel that rested on the table. "So, you excited to go to the new academy?" Sunbeam asked.

"Ugh, DON'T remind me. It makes me sick to the stomach to think about that," Sizzle groaned. Beam frowned. "Why's that?"

"Because it's always just been me, my family, and you. I never wanted anything to change and I don't want things to start changing now that we're heading to school..."

Her friend hugged her. "Everything will be fine. Change can be a good thing, right? Although I don't particularly love it myself," Sunbeam laughed.

"Obviously! You do seem to be happy for the school though."

"Well, its a great way we can be together! I mean, I hope you don't get along too well with your future winglet..." Sizzle couldn't tell if Sunbeam was being serious about that last part.

The pale gold sand dragon peered out at the sky and silently said a SandWing curse. She turned to her friend. "Hey Sunbeam, I've been here for a while and I really should head home. It's almost dinner and  should really apologize to Barren and Cleo for shouting at them. And it's sibling night, the night where we just have fun and mess around in the house."

"You have to go already?" Sunbeam sighed. "Ok. But make sure you come over soon! You know I get pretty lonely, even with my mom."

Sizzle clearly refused to dig deeper into Sunbeam's comments to find hidden feelings and she just grinned instead. "Why couldn't I? I'll try to come back tomorrow if I can!"

Beam air-kissed both of her cheeks in a classy way while Sizzle walked out of the door and onto the dusty street. "Miss you already!" the brown SandWing shouted and Sizzle waved goodbye with her wing.

The sun was already setting and Sizzle could barely see in the dim light. When she was about to exit the Scorpion Den, she ran into a large dragon. The male SandWing turned around to face her with a hostile glare. "What was that for?!" he demanded.

"Nothing! It was an accident!" Sizzle tried her best to keep the annoyed hiss from her voice. "Alright. Whatever. Now, scram-" he paused when he spotted her dazzling ruby gauntlets. "How much are those worth?" he growled deeply.

"Erm, I don't know! And their not yours either," she snapped.

"Oh they will be," he mumbled and before Sizzle could react, his barbed tail came shooting towards her face.

The gold and red SandWing shouted in surprise and lunged sideways. By the time she looked back up at the vicious dragon, he already gathered the rest of his deadly gang.

Sizzle stood up and brushed the dirt off of her chest and belly. She flared open her wings. Ok. Ok. Only three of them. I got this, she thought and the idea she came up with was both sly and pretty hilarious.

She raised her eyebrow at two of the SandWings. "Hey, there handsome fellas. Let's say this. You don't get the pretty bracelets and I won't hurt you. Deal, pretty boys?" she grinned widely.

The two of them looked at each other, blushing and flustered. The large SandWing she bumped into growled, "She's just flirting with you! GET HER DUMB JEWELRY!"

The one on the right shook his head and pounced, tackling her to the ground, smiling rudely. "Sorry, miss. I'm not interested in your pathetic self," he snarled.

Sizzle rolled her eyes and kicked upwards towards his stomach, bit his tail hard and pinned him to the ground with her poisonous tail to his throat. "Eh, I'm a lesbian anyways. Now, I want you to scram." Immediately, after she let him go, he took off and so did his friend. The big bully decided to stay though.

Not wanting to continue the fight, Sizzle spread of her red wings. "Nice seeing you. I'm gonna go now," she said quickly and leapt into the air. She started to fly away when the SandWing threw a rock towards her. It rammed into Sizzle's head and it nearly knocked her out of the dark night sky.

She held in her scream and tears and continued to fly towards her home. She reached the balcony and when she landed, Sizzle gently rubbed her throbbing head. She pulled her talons away and noticed that they were covered in blood.

Great, that's going to REALLY hurt tomorrow- she mentally sighed in her mind as she creeped back into her bedroom through the double doors.
