|| Chapter 9 ||

Sizzle, Coast, and Gentoo found a roomy and hidden reading nook in the small library on the top floor of the House. The three of them settled down on the soft cushions and Sizzle saw Gentoo nab a scroll out of curiosity. And she couldn't get over how pretty Coast's light aquamarine scales shimmered in the sunlight that was peeking out through a window.

The SandWing laid down on the blanket and Gentoo sat on a pillow besides her. "So, what did you guys bring? I didn't bring much. It's not like I have that much to bring anyways!" Coast smiled her perfect smile and flopped down on the soft flooring. "Myself! And well, a small satchel just to carry stuff that I might collect during this school year. I guess I was in such a rush to come here, I didn't really pack!" Sizzle said, trying her best to make eye contact with the pretty SeaWing.

Coast beamed, and flicked her tail. She spun her head around, seeming to take in the nature that was just outside the glass window as well as the heart-warming aspects of the reading room. "This is the most beautiful place I have ever seen," the SeaWing breathed.

Sizzle propped herself up with a cushion and Gentoo looked at Coast with an observant glance. "Honestly Coast, I'm pretty sure you grew up in the most beautiful place out there!" she said and Coast looked at her. "Really?"

Gentoo nodded. "Of course! The Kingdom of the Sea is once of the most gorgeous places in Pyrrhia, especially with the ocean, coral reefs, the Deep Palace, and the Summer Palace," he explained and Coast blushed a tiny bit. "That does sound amazing," she said. "What about you two?"

Sizzle exchanged humorous glances with Gentoo. "Well let's just say that neither of us come from very exciting places," Gentoo laughed and Coast giggled as well. Sizzle thought that Coast was seriously as cute as a kitten.

"I mean the prettiest thing I saw before yo-this beautiful place was a bright looking tumbleweed," Sizzle caught her tongue and hoped that Coast didn't notice her slip up. But Gentoo definitely did and he gave her a sly look, and she swore to the three moons she was going to smack him in the face with her ruby tail barb, "I mean where I come from isn't really great." Isn't really great, that's one way you can say it.

Coast must've noticed her sad look because the sweet SeaWing brushed her wings against Sizzle's. "To be honest, my home is complicated as well. But one day, I'll have my very own palace to live in and my very own statue of myself and I shall call it 'Coast the Great!'" she grinned and Sizzle felt a million times better.

She then bounced over to the gray, white, and blue IceWing. "How cold is the Ice Kingdom?" she asked cheerfully and then gasped, "Do you have penguins for breakfast?"

Gentoo widened his eyes. "Well first of all, very cold. And second, it would be very ironic to eat a penguin. I mean I'm not saying we don't but... my name is Gentoo so..." he laughed.

Sizzle and Coast both burst out laughing. She had to admit that she really enjoyed the company of these two dragons. They're both really funny and pretty nice. And Coast was really, really amazing.

"That would be ironic!" chuckled Coast, and when she caught Sizzle's eye, she blushed slightly. "We are going to have the best time here!" Coast sighed happily and laid on her back and Sizzle rolled over to join her. Gentoo folded up his freezing wings next to them. 

"Do you guys want to go on a walk? I mean, just to get a small look at this place?" the IceWing finally asked, spreading his wings.

"Sure!" Coast said enthusiastically, hugging both Gentoo and Sizzle with her wings and the SandWing felt her scales grow hotter then they normally were.

Sizzle and Gentoo trailed behind as the three of them were walking down the Rock Path. Coast bounded ahead of them, her gorgeous light blue scales standing out against the dark, lush greens and the sky which was now white with overcast.

"She's totally your type," Gentoo whispered to the SandWing and Sizzle thumped him softly with her wing. "Oh shut up!"

He rolled his eyes and laughed. Sizzle stuck her tongue out at him but her face broke into a slight grin. "Y'know Gentoo I would've never thought that you would be the kind of teasing dragon."

"Only to you. From the couple hours that I've known you two, I think that the there of us are going to have a pretty long friendship. And to be truthful, that wouldn't be half-bad."

Sizzle sighed and nudged him playfully. "I have to admit, I agree with you."

Coast walked back to them, her face filled with her lovable, bubbly excitement. "I love it here!"

"This place truly is breath-taking," Sizzle commented, the ruby diamond markings under her eyes glimmering in the dim light.

She also thought she heard a quiet whisper, "Just like you," and she raised her eyebrows and turned to look at a confused Gentoo and a slightly pink Coast.

Maybe I just imagined it. Does Coast really like me? Did she whisper that? That would be so amazing. Wait, I can't get my hopes up again. I only just met her! And she only just met me.

Yeah, Sizzle definitely imagined it.

I haven't really done an Author's Note for any of the chapters so lets start now!
