I woke up to the sound of soft snoring. I opened my eyes, and my head was resting on something warm. Oh, I was sleeping on Edward’s laps.
I sat up, staring at Edward’s angelic face. I didn’t think I would ever get over how perfect he looked. And boy, he looked so cute when sleeping!
I could not resist and stroked his blonde hair. It felt so soft. Then I trailed my hand down to his face. I caressed his face; it was so smooth. Just as I was gliding my hand down his toned chest, which I could feel even with the shirt in between, I remembered last night, before I fell asleep, the cold thing that touched my lips. Was that… Edward? My hand froze on his abs, and suddenly Edward gave out a sigh.
I was startled, and quickly jerked my hand away. Edward opened his eyes, looked lost for a moment, then focused on me, and flashed me his Edward smile. I blushed again, not only because of his perfect smile, but also because of nearly being caught.
“Morning, beautiful,” Edward said, kissing me on the cheek, “You look really cute like that.”
“Morning,” I mumbled, “You’re quite the charmer yourself aren’t you.”
“Yeah, yeah. Anyway, how does your leg feel today?”
I looked at my leg, and flexed it a little bit. I tried to stand up, and Edward quickly held his arms out in case I fell.
I could stand up, but when I walked it was a bit wobbly.
“Are you sure you can handle it?” Edward asked, his eyebrows pulled together.
“Positive. With a little practice, it’s going to be okay, just give me a couple of minutes,” I replied with a smile.
Edward looked like he didn’t believe me, but we continued our journey anyway. We decided to walk along the river, to check what would be waiting for us behind the bent. On our way, he kept his arm securely around my shoulder to prevent me from falling.
As we were walking, we felt the temperature getting higher and higher. Originally Edward’s palm on my shoulder felt a bit icy on my skin through my shirt, but now it was actually warm. And the blue crystals on the wall became less and less; eventually it was quite dark. I could only make out the shadows of the wall. But it was not long before we saw some light again – the difference was that the light was orange this time.
A few more minutes later, we reached the end of the river. At least the end of what we could see of it, because there was another waterfall leading it further down. However, we could not see where this waterfall would lead us to, as the water fell into a small gap that had no light emitting from it. But we could still walk pass the river and continue our journey through the tunnel.
Finally, we reached another cave. And this was another surprise for us. No wonder the temperature kept rising, and there was orange light instead of blue light. Right in front of us, was a sea of lava.
