tension in the room started brewing as eyes watched as dream began chuckling nervously upon tommy's bold accusation.
'what? 'im still here' doesn't mean anything??' dream chuckled, looking away as he crossed his arms.
tommy furrowed his brows at dream, gritting his teeth as he stormed up to dream and grabbed him by his shirt, his war aura began to shine, making his sky blue eyes turn dark red. 'i lost a friend because of your haste actions.' tommy growled.
dream scoffed as he shoved tommy back, straightening his shirt and mask. 'traitor or not, he still had to pay for his actions.' dream paused before continuing. tommy watched in detest as dream's mask began to glow a faint lime in colour, in his hand appeared an iron sword.
'control your powers, general. don't want you to go rouge like your buddy eret now, don't we?' dream teased as he swung his iron sword playfully.
tommy's jaw tensed as he forced himself to calm down, his war aura slowly fading.
sighing to himself, wilbur calmly stood and came in between them, 'perhaps.. this threat is bigger than we think.' wilbur said as he turned to face the people seated round the meeting table.
george eyed wilbur suspiciously, 'wilbur, what are you implying?' george asked as he leaned at the edge of his seat, eager to hear what wilbur has to say.
wilbur straightened himself before saying, 'what if, eret was the traitors puppet? a puppet to carry out the traitors evil deeds for him, to divert our focus somewhere else, to arouse our suspicions, to have us looking in the wrong place.' wilbur says as he paced the room.
'a decoy...' bad added to which dream nods his head, 'makes sense.' dream admits.
wilbur let out a loud sigh, 'we played right into the traitors trap. we let our guard down.' wilbur paused as he turned to george who was looking away in shame, 'look, im not going to point fingers, it wont do us any good. until we can find the traitor, there will be attacks to be expected.' wilbur says.
'what we can do to protect our citizens is to be prepared for future attacks. we need to work together, pool together our skills and resources, strengthen our troops, rebuild the nations. the time to act is now!' wilbur suggested, his voice filled with pride as he radiated the essence of a true leader.
bad exhaled with a smile as he stood, 'im with you all the way, wilbur. you have my allegiance. i will follow you into battle.' bad said proudly, the devil on his shoulder swirling around his shoulder happily.
the two kings turned to george who raised his eyebrow and nodded his head, 'i agree.' george finally says.
with that, cheers erupted in the hall as councilors and noblemen began beaming proudly. out of the corner of his eye, wilbur spots schlatt walk up to him. 'your majesty.' schlatt spoke as he tapped wilbur on his shoulder lightly.
wilbur turned to schlatt as schlatt presented a large box to wilbur, 'its time.' schlatt added. wilbur sighed before turning back to the table as he raised a hand slowly, silencing the room, 'very well rulers, lets meet again sometime soon for future discussions, dismissed.'
with that, everyone stood and bowed. wilbur turned and headed for the exit when george and bad came up to wilbur, wilbur stopped and raised an eyebrow, 'anything wrong, your majesties?' wilbur asks.
bad smiled weakly, 'we just came to offer our condolences, its hard enough losing a knight let alone a wife.' bad paused before continuing, 'we're sorry for your loss, wilbur.' bad and george said together.
small tears escaped wilburs eyes as he quickly wiped them away, preventing them from soaking into his bandages, 'thank you, i appreciate your words, have a good evening. please excuse me.' wilbur says softly.
as bad and george parted ways for wilbur to pass, george grabbed onto wilburs shoulder gently, wilbur turned to george in confusion, 'if it is to any comfort to you, niki gave me this the night of the banquet but i believe it belongs to you' george said as he handed wilbur a dry pressed white rose.
wilburs gaze softened at the sight of the rose. his lips quivered as he whispered a soft thank you to george. george nodded before walking off with bad.
wilburs vision blurred as tears filled his eyes before streaking down his cheeks, he crouched over and began crying, he didn't bother to wipe them away this time.
schlatt looked at wilbur sadly as he silently walked up to him and stood next to him. with one hand, he held the box, with another, he gave comforting pats to wilburs back, assuring him it was ok to cry.
wilbur took in shaky breaths before finally looking up to face schlatt, 'a king is allowed to feel... a king is human after all.' schlatt said slowly, comforting wilbur.
wilbur nodded as he sniffed, carefully wiping his tears away, avoiding from damaging his bandages. wilbur took in deep breathes before straightening himself, 'thank you schlatt.' wilbur says shakily.
schlatt chuckled, 'anytime, wilbur.'
wilbur nodded to himself, 'come schlatt, we have wasted enough time.' wilbur said as he nudged schlatt by his shoulder to which schlatt responded by silently cursing as he winced, reminding wilbur that he had wounds under his suit.
'sorry schlatt, lets go.' wilbur said awkwardly as schlatt glared at him, 'about time, holding up this box is exhausting. its heavy.' schlatt joked.
schlatt lead the way as the two began walking up stairs, heading to a room. 'you sure you want to do this? niki used to do this.' schlatt warned.
wilbur sighed as he fidget with his bandages, 'yes, i cant run from him forever. plus, i promised niki id do this. take me to fundy.' wilbur said.
..
