the scent of old books filled his nose as tommy pushed open the door to wilburs study. sat upon his elaborate custom wooden desk was wilbur who was glancing over paperwork, it had been two days since the attack.
'he still refuses to speak?' wilbur asked, not even looking away from his paperwork.
'no, he has resisted our interrogation efforts so far. tommy replied. wilbur raised an eyebrow as he finally looked up before sighing as he leaned back into his study chair, disappointment was a understatement.
'your majesty.' schlatts voice interrupted wilburs thoughts. 'the meeting between the councillors and leaders of the two kingdoms is beginning soon' schlatt said as he handed wilbur his crown and large fur coat.
wilbur sighed as he stood and grabbed his cloak and crown, 'right, i totally forgot about the meeting, blasted brown mnm's. ' wilbur grumbled as he adjusted his crown. 'lead the way'
fast forward...
'UNACCEPTABLE!!' bad shouted, 'the north border was trashed to the brink of absolute destruction! the trading central is destroyed by tha-'
'now now king bad, lets settle down.' wilbur interrupted, pinching his nose bridge and gesturing for bad to sit down.
bad scrunched his eyebrows and unwillingly sat, the devil perched on his shoulder snarling angrily at wilbur. 'lets have general tommy do a status report first.' wilbur said as he pat tommy on the back. tommy stood and headed to the front of the meeting room and pulled out a whiteboard filled with notes on the attack.
tommy cleared his throat before starting, 'so uhh- the damage resulted in a staggering amount of gold needed to repair it..uhh yea 47 casualties, most were l'manbergians unfortunately. the prisoner has not said anything regarding the attack so far. but before we get to his punishment, lets discuss our next course of action.' tommy rambled. 'who wants to start?'
'i say we exile him!' a voice rang out.
'i said we should get to the rebuilding the north border first, the punishment comes later, you idiot.' tommy scolded back. dream raised his hand, 'tommy, your sure eret is the traitor?' dream questioned.
tommy scoffed before pointing to the whiteboard, 'thats what we all want to know innit? we have no confirmation that he is the traitor.', dream stood as he adjusted his signature smiley-mask before walking up to tommy, 'well he attacked the north border without any reason, didn't he? the north border is clearly the main trading central for our three kingdoms, only skilled traitors would know to target the trading central first.' dream said as he jabbed a finger at tommys chest.
'seems like your doing a great job taking charge of your squadron, general.' dream mocked as he flicked tommys forehead. 'why yo-' tommy shouted back, his eyes starting to glow red.
'ENOUGH!!' wilbur shouted as he came in between the two generals, 'we are not here to squabble, we are here to discuss about the attack peacefully, if eret is the traitor then so be it, we shall decide what his punishment is.' wilbur said before turning to tommy, 'ive told you tommy, control your damn war aura.'
'the point of catching the traitor is to secure the peace, but here we are, arguing and getting up in each others faces! we signed a peace treaty!' wilbur continued.
at that moment, george cleared his throat and stood, his eyes gleaming with anger. 'wilbur, i do not doubt your leadership however if eret is truly the traitor, lets forget about the peace treaty, the traitor was your citizen, your knight. he cause the deaths of 19 people from my kingdom, i will not stand for eret rotting away in a cell.'
'what are you implying, george?' wilbur asked, eyeing george suspiciously.
'im implying a death sentence for eret.' george said as he walked over to stand beside dream. wilbur scoffed and tilted his head, 'you have a weird sense of humour for the king of the dream smp.'
'you think this is a joke?' dream said, his smiley-mask failing to hide the anger in his voice. 'why don't we just kill him now? its not a bad suggestion'
the smile from wilburs face dropped, 'are you insane, general?' tommy said, moving up to face dream.
to his surprise, dream slammed the whiteboard next to him with his fist, sending the notes that were once on it flying to the floor, 'he took the lives of 19 people from us, its only fair if he pays the price! A LIFE FOR A LIFE!' dream shouted. (i don't have daddy issues but that's hot)
'THATS MY KNIGHT DREAM!' tommy shouted back.
dream scoffed before continuing, 'knight or murderer? if you chose to let him live on, your siding with a murderer and a traitor! my kingdom shall not rest if a knight of yours who took an oath and pledged to do good lives on with the blood of my people on his hands! know the difference general!' dream yelled.
'again, we have no proof that eret IS the traitor!' wilbur added, stepping forth.
dream opened his mouth to speak but george cut him off by raising his hand, dream silenced himself as he watched george step forth to face wilbur, 'it doesn't matter if eret is the traitor. im asking him to pay for HIS crimes this time, not the traitors crime.' george paused before continuing, 'kill him or the peace treaty is of no use.' george said firmly.
sighing to himself, bad stood and walked over to the group before chiming in, 'how about a vote on it?' to which the group responded by nodding.
'you know my answer.' george said as he turned and headed back to his seat.
'i vote spare.' bad says which earned a surprised and disgusted look from george. 'i know eret has caused the death of some of my citizens but i see no need in using violence to solve violence. it makes us become the very monsters we conspire to destroy.' bad assured george before turning to return to his seat.
heads turn to wilbur as he had the final say in the matter, 'should you let this murderer walk free, i wont stand for it.' george reminded wilbur, pressuring him to make the choice to kill eret.
guilt racked his heart as he struggled to make a choice, 'your majesty.' schlatt chimed in, wilbur turned to schlatt, 'a king must make decisions based on what suits the kingdom best, even if its at the cost of a heavy price.' schlatt reminded wilbur.
wilburs eyes widened, he knew what he had to do. sighing, he turned to george, 'to preserve the peace, it is decided that eret shall be put to death at the first dawn of the day after.'
a clap echoed as george stood, 'a wise choice, wilbur. i yearn to see us rebuild the north border sometime soon.' george says as he left the meeting room followed by dream and his noblemen.
bad looked apologetically at wilbur before standing and walking over to wilbur. he gave wilbur a pat on the back as he whispered a quick sorry to wilbur before leaving.
'damn it!' wilbur cursed as he slammed his hand on the desk. 'it wasn't your fault, your majesty.' schlatt comforted wilbur, 'its not like we had much of a choice anyways, that little british bastard.' tommy said, clenching his fist.
'well...not much left to do except break the news to him.' wilbur said as he exited the meeting room. 'your majesty- i mea- wilby you don't have to go, ill do it.' tommy stammered as he followed behind wilbur.
'no he has to know. i have a few words for him anyways.' wilbur said as he headed down the stairs to the prison.
'understood' tommy said weakly as he and schlatt followed behind wilbur, afraid of the conflict that's to come.
