magnolia - the next morning

the trip to the museum is today and i'm actually kind of looking forward to it.

the party is tonight which i am equally as excited for surprisingly.

we were told by our teachers to dress "professionally" for the museum because apparently it is very fancy.

i decide to wear blush pink plaid dress, with a very pastel pink cardigan, and my high top white converse.

for my hair and makeup i just add some simple things like high lighter, mascara and a bit of lipstick, and for my hair i decide to put it half up into two space buns.

i walk into lillies room and see her sitting at the vanity doing her makeup that she usually does. she wearing a tan plaid shirt, with a black shirt over it, black high waisted pants, and white air force ones.

"hey are you almost ready to go? the bus leaves in 15 minutes," i tell her.

"ya, just give me like five more minutes."

i walk further into her room and plop down onto her bed and let out a deep sigh.

"what's wrong," she asks me.

"nothing, i'm just kind of stressed."

"why?"

"lillie, we are gonna be graduating in like four months. we are growing up so fast and i just don't want to. i'm gonna miss doing dumb high school stuff with you."

"i know maggie. i will too."

we both get up and leave from her room.

we take the elevator and go down 18 floors. right outside the hotel door is our school's busses.

we get on our assigned bus and sit for the 15 minute drive it takes to get to the museum.

once i step off the bus, i am already in awe.

the building in front of me is already gorgeous and it is just the outside.

the building is a cream color. it has columns on what i'm guessing is the second floor balcony. there is a large arched door way that has different designs on it. there is so much going on but i'm just taking it all in. there is different figures/statutes in areas all around the building. everything is so beautiful.

i walk into the large building and see how open it is. right in the center of all the open space is a giant skeleton of some prehistoric animal. to my left is a short staircase that leads to another statute and to my right is a bigger stair case that i'm guessing leads to the second floor. there is about 4 archways that lead to different parts of this massive museum.

the museum doesn't look to be to busy which i'm glad about because i don't do well in huge crowds of people i don't know.

our teacher talks to us for a bit about what we are supposed to do. we have to explore at least 5 sections of the building. we have to take at least 15 photos and take notes on everything.

we are told to split up into groups of two because apparently the buddy system is still important as teenagers.

me and lillie partner up and begin to go to the second floor. we think the idea to work the opposite of where everyone is going will be better.

we turn into one of the archways that separates the sections of the building and it turns out to be a art gallery.

all four of the walls are lined with what i'm sure to be are priceless paintings. the walls are painted a black. the top half of the wall is a white detailed architecture.
